I know this isn't a diebetic issue but I wondered if anyone could help.

a moth flew into baileys eye 2 days ago. (it was like a scene from a horror movie) I got the moths body out and then wiped the debris of its wings out but now his eye looks swollen and has little white specks around the side of it.
ive got an appointment at the vets tomorrow but wondered if there was anything I could put in it to help him before then!

You could try a few drops of artificial tears, there may be something still in there. when we had to give Emma eye medication it was compounded into a base of artificial tears.

I haven't got any of those but ive used cooled (boiled kettle) water on a cotton pad and bathed it and seemed to have got quite abit of dirt out.it seems a little better.
just don't want it turning to an infection and we all no how prone to infections are little sugar babies are.

ive got a vet appointment tomorrow anyway. I go on my own and leave Bailey at home as hed have to be sedated for the vet to even look at him as he wont let even me get him out of the carrier at that horrid place we call the vets ;-) . ive taken a photo so he knows what were dealing with.the things we have to do!!!

i don't think i'd use a cotton ball in his eye, just flush it with running water. when you rinse an eye you want saline solution rather than just plain water. plain water kinda hurts, if you've ever had it in your eye.

poor little guy - hope the vet can suggest something to soothe it.

it was just a flat cotton wool pad. I know bless him.if its not one thing its another but it doesn't seem to be bothering him.hopefully with a few drops he'll be fine.
were going through the new dose wonkiness stage at the mo with his numbers. that should also hopefully settle within the next 2/3 cycles!

i hate to reply on yesterday's post, but don't want to miss giving you a response about this.

New Dose Wonkiness only occurs with dose increases. He might be bouncing from the 65 day before yesterday, and it still could last a total of 3 days after the low numbers. If he clears this bounce and doesn't return to green numbers, it may be a failed reduction, in which case you'd want to go back up in dose. Take a look here to read the difference between the NDW, bouncing and failed reductions. that might help explain it.
