This is Day 3 of no insulin - hopefully this is still part of a bounce. There's food in that number above, he cleaned up last night's food shortly before SissyPuppy got us up. He's also eaten even more after we got up. Turned up his nose at dog food this morning but I'm fixing fresh chicken right now, he's hollering at the pot just waiting. Poo was good last night and this morning altho' he did have a very runny one yesterday afternoon. It seems to be tied to lower numbers. Ketones negative too.

My sweet Doc keeps handing me ugly black numbers at PS too often now. I SO wish I could figure this out - he's been on Levemir for 12 days, I'm very disappointed in where it's taking us. I'm going to start a new pen tonight but I truly don't think that's the problem.
We've had another little 'break-thru' with puppy mill baby Johnny, the checked out one. He's now coming to me to be held and loved! Yesterday he started relaxing his tail a bit too...we celebrate every little step with him because they're BIG things, he works hard for them. I'm beginning to doubt he'll ever really be a 'normal' dog. He doesn't yet understand that he needs to potty outside but he does always go to just one area in their pen. I tried putting a 'target' pad down there but one of them, probably Junior, drags it to their 'laying' end and then both sleep on it....or Junior chews it up in bitty pieces. :roll:
Sissy, the new foster pup, is doing wonderful. I figured out that the soft harness would adjust small enough to fit her, she does WONDERFUL on a leash....goes potty AND 'finish potty' both when she needs to. We're working with her to learn to not bite hands when playing, 'rope' is for biting instead. She's already figured it out too. She learned to 'be still' when she's in my arm even when she gets excited. If we could just get her to understand 'no whine'... :roll: She wants to be in the middle of anything happening even if it's just nothing. She tries to get Sassy and Sasha to play but they just look at her like she's lost her mind - she's a DOG! They consider themselves 'not cat thingy's'....they're scared of 'dogs'.
Today we hold close Mariko as she and Lucy walk their path as well as Melanie with a big Racci hole in her heart. Extra thoughts and prayers for those needing them today also.
BIG HUGS and YARD DANCES! It's 68 degrees on August 1st! 'Average' is near 100.
