Morning, happy Sunday everyone! Well we have officially hit day 7 on the .25 dose with a beautiful amps. It was last Sunday night when I decreased him to .25 and we have had a great week, there were a couple of low blue's but they were very low. Soooo.......I think we earn our dosecrease, so should we shoot a .1 tonight???? Thanks for your input! Will be waiting to hear what the experts say!!!!!

Scrabble is doing so well! That is a beautiful AMPS :mrgreen: I'm impressed that he went through infection, surgery, dental, and has just kept steadily truckin' down the ladder. That's one awesome kitty you have there! I bet you get your dosecrease :mrgreen:

I am curious since now I have the half unit syringes. How would you judge a .1 dose? I'm still having trouble seeing the .50 dose :?:

Ann THIS is a site D and Noisy sent me to show the dosages....

Wal-Mart has magnifying glasses in the office supply section if you need one (I did for everything under .50 till I realized I just needed to take off my glasses to see it clearly) :mrgreen:

Thanks everyone, just got up officially for the day! Ok gonna start practicing, oh my gosh so excited and nervous!!! Is .1 really THAT much difference than .25? I set my alarm for a +3 but fell back to sleep and woke up an hour later with my cell phone still in my hand to get a +4. Went back to bed after that and am now up and pretty excited!!!

It's less than 1/2 of .25 so to Scrabble, yep, it's very different! Think about measuring it more like a fat zero (a little past the zero line) rather than measuring a half unit and cutting that down. You can experiment with this yourself, but even when the syringe is at the zero line, there is actually still a little bit of insulin in there. So maybe at the lower end of the zero line, with no light in between the stopper and the black line, could be your .10, if that makes sense.

I'm really glad to see that the Baytril hasn't been too bad for Scrabble.

That makes sense thanks so much, just gonna do some practicing with the syringe and water so I can get the feel of it! Yes so glad I have had no problems with Baytril! Scrabble is a trooper!!!! Like others said with all he has been through in the past couple of weeks I am amazed at his progress! He is such a wonderful boy!!!

Michelle, here's what we did...

1. We practiced with insulin -- we had an old vial around, but maybe just once you can do it with real insulin. We filled it to the .25, then took out medium-ish drops, counting the drops we were taking out. This helped us know what we had to work with.
2. For the first dose, we measure to the .25, then took out a medium-ish drop, and that was our .1. For us, the .25 looked like the pictures, and so did the the .1. Our .1 had the top of the stopper just about touching the outside of the zero line. We did test again, and found that we were giving about 1.5 drops.
3. I tried my best to hold down the plunger before pulling the syringe back out after giving the shot. That isn't so easy. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
4. Just for the heck of it, after giving a shot, I pushed the plunger down hard. There was a very small drop still in there. Vapors!

I was just going to suggest what the others did. Practice with a used syringe so you can be sure there is actually some insulin coming out. MJ/Donovan accidentally shot nothing for several days because it turned out that the drop of insulin that was in the syringe wasn't making it through the needle and out the other end. :lol:

PMPS 84 I Shot a .1, I think. I practiced a bunch of times with an old syringe and water and think I got the hang of it, it is a couple of drops. I basically have the plunger on the bottom part of the 0 line. Hopefully I did it right! I will practice more to make sure I got it right! Thanks for the help Kitty! Hoping Scrabble has another great week!!!! Thanks to everyone for your kind words of encouragement, this is pretty exciting, I have been in such a good mood all day!!! Bought Scrabble a new toy today and he absolutely loves it!!! Happy bean, happy kitty!!!

Congratulations Michelle.
I remember holding the plunger so hard down and waited a bit before
taking it out of Max.
Luckily Max never gave me a hard time with his shots so it was not a proble.
When you are working with a couple of drops, each ine counts!!!

How about retesting in 15-30 please.
It is still 3.5 hours into the cycle and the first time you measured the microdose.

Nope not an advice giver.
Just someone who has seen many 40's and 30's and 20's and was surprised to see 49 at .1
say in an hour, well that wouldn't be fun to wait.
