J.D. and Ginger and I have had a lazy day. Except for five walks. It has been slightly raining, and I have been trying to catch up on my sleep. I have not done so good with that, but napped a little and was lazy watching T.V. on the couch. J.D. needs to poo. I give him 5ml (1 teaspoon) of baby food squash and 1/8 teaspoon of Miralax twice per day.
Tuesday and Wednesday, he only pooed once per day and hard small poos. Thursday and Friday he pooed once per day, but normal sized, but still very firm (I can only judge firmness by what I find when I get home from work).
I talked to my vet yesterday about stopping the Flagyl and she said to try to reduce it from 2 pills BID to 1 pill BID for a few days and see if that helped. We have used Flagyl in the past on an as needed basis to help stop diarrhea. We just started him back on Baytril on Thursday night, and I think that's why he's still on the Flagyl (but I'm not sure), because he had some tummy upset and diarrhea before on Orbax. Between the Flagyl and Bupe (which also stops him up), I think he needs more squash or miralax. Since it's the weekend, I am able to give him Bupe TID instead of BID.
And, I was giving him 1/4 tsp. of Miralax, and for some reason, I switched to 1/8 tsp..and I don't know why.
Anyway, J.D. needs perfect poo vines.
I tried sending my vet an email today, asking her if I can just shelve the Flagyl and go back to just using it as needed again, but either she didn't work today, didn't read her email, or I sent it too late.
He did eat twice today, on his own, from a cat food bowl. The last time at +9, yes, when he was HI, and I had added FF kibble on top, but eating on his own is eating on his own, and baby steps in the right direction.
He is currently laying next to my feet as I type. With his tail up, and maybe farting. I think it's time for another walk.
Poo, J.D.
