Yesterday's Double Dip Condo

I am soooo liking these numbers lately! Now if we can just stop going back to those yellow preshots, I'd be ecstatic!

Cinco seems to be feeling well today - eye is wide open and looking so much better. Appy is very good. He's up on the back of the sofa again, which is something he hasn't done much lately. We are looking forward eagerly to this afternoon's Ophthalmology appointment. Paws crossed we get to kiss the cone goodbye!

I got an e-mail back from Sasha's Oncologist, answering all my questions. The first appointment available to start the chemo ball rolling is next Monday morning, so I'll have to drag my grumpy rear out of bed at an ungodly hour, but we'll do it! @-) @-) Too bad I can't drink when it's hot out.

Such bootiful blues and greenies there, Cinco! Now ditch the sunnies and lounge in the lagoon, won't you? Vines for Sasha's chemo sessions. Big ugh! on the early mornings. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Cinco and Max seem to be on the same course. Now a nightime of slow and steady would be nice I think. Or are you up for another pj party? I hope the vet appointment goes well and helps you decide with certainty what you want to do with the eye issue.

Hey Cinco! I had fun on shore today with you and Max! I haven't decided yet if I'm going to take a dip later into the lagoon, but if I do, I hope you guys will join me!~ China

Hope Cinco's vet visit went well, Tricia! There's lots of us waiting to hear what the vet says about possibly removing the eye, and I sure hope he's done with the cone of shame!

Glad all your questions were answered regarding Sasha's treatment....You can always have iced if it's hot!

Keep up the better numbers Cinco...your mamabean really loves to see them!

I hope all went well today and that you can finally ditch the cone. That by itself will make Cinco feel so much better. Glad you got the chemo appointment, despite the early hour you will have to arise.

I hope all went well with the OV today, and we're starting up pre-chemo prayers for sweet little Sasha, too! I'm glad Cinco is feeling and eating well...and such nice numbers to boot, too!!

Thanks for stopping by and sending vines, Tara, Carla, Elise, Chris, Ella and Amy. Sorry I didn't have time to post an update until now.

The Ophthalmologist said that the pressure in Cinco's eye is perfect. The inflammation is gone. The corneal ulcer is 80% healed, which means he HAS TO KEEP THE CONE ON UNTIL HIS NEXT CHECK UP on the 15th. :sad: :sad: :sad: I asked him about removing the eye, and he said that most people don't want to do that, which is why he probably wouldn't have suggested it, but in Cinco's case, he thinks it's a reasonable solution. I was very relieved that he was so agreeable about it. We scheduled it for the 24th, which is the first day he had a block of time available for surgery. So Cinco should get about a week of being cone free, then back in it again for what we hope will be the last time! We're continuing all the drops until surgery, to make sure he stays comfortable. I already felt like I'd made the right decision, but he added to my confidence with his responses.

The first available appointment for Sasha to start her chemo is next Monday, the 8th, so that is set, too. I feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders, with these decisions made and the wheels set in motion. I just wish we could get started on it all tomorrow!!

Even though Cinco gets very upset when he goes anywhere in the carrier, it never seems to adversely affect his BG, for which I am grateful. If Cinco and China want to go for a dip tonight, I'm game. Max is welcome to come,too! The more the merrier.

Now I have to get moving on dinner. Left over ribs from this weekend, corn on the cob, roast potatoes and salad. And, wine, of course! ;-)

It's looking like Max will take you up on the offer. He's very hungry and his +2 is a little lower than his +1.

I'm like you. I agonize before making these big decisions and feel like a big weight is lifted once decided. It's good to know your vets agree. It makes it more calming I think.

I'm glad the OV appointment went well and the OV vet agreed with you on Cinco's eye. Sending prayers for Sasha's upcoming chemo and Cinco's upcoming surgery.

I am so glad that all went well with the OV visit - except, of course, that stupid cone! Poor Cinco. But given all that he has been through, it makes perfect sense to have the other eye removed, and I am sure in the long run all of you will be much happier once it's done. I agree...it's too bad it can't all be started sooner, but making the decisions and setting the plans is more than half the battle. Gosh, what lucky kitties to have you as their bean!!!
