WCR: Most Ps in place. Nothing much to report. Got snuggles this morning and a little lovin' this morning when she helped me pick out my clothes. Her appy is ok...she's enjoying the seafood fuds I've been feeding her. She rarely gets to have any, but lately I've been pulling out anything I thought she might eat...and seafood has been a winner. She's been drinking a bit more water the past few days (similar to a week ago) and is acting like she doesn't feel great, but is still affectionate when I go love on her.
OT: It's picture day at school...we'll see if I make it over to the auditorium for my pic. If it were yesterday...absolutely NOT! Got to school yesterday and NO A/C! :-x There are a few basic luxuries of life that I cannot function without...a/c while working is a big one. All school buildings' a/c in the county are controlled at the school board. Apparently, our chiller went offline sometime Monday night. This was so much worse than the first week of school. My classroom was 82 when I walked in at 8am w/ about 90% humidity. Other teachers were reporting temps of 87-89 degrees. Next to impossible to teach and be enthusiastic while you're sweating profusely; not to mention the kids are absolutely drained of all possible energy.
One of our English teachers wrote a wonderfully worded email to "the powers that be" and I really wish his words could change the world of education...at least in my county! To sum it up: You (county officials) continue to ask more and more of us (teachers) given less and less time with more and more paperwork and meetings and NO pay raise for the past 5+ years...we come to work, week after week to educate our students and sometimes under extreme circumstances, we do our very best to stay positive and enthusiastic. If you're going to demand so very much from us, then how about you get your act together and at least make sure that we have a clean, safe, healthy environment to in which to work...which includes making sure our a/c is working properly...we live in FLORIDA...August/September average is 90 degrees with 80%+ humidity. Personally, by the time I left school yesterday, I felt sick to my stomach with a massive headache. I'm not much better today. Wishing I could just stay home and snuggle with my sassy cat. Sorry for the long story.
Wishing everyone a nice, cool day (unless you live in a really cold climate and then maybe you can have some of our heat!)
Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!
