Last Night:
316 PMPS
385 +1.5
148 +3
and I just noticed I never updated my spreadsheet...

I did test at least once more last night. I think I got a 143 and then a yellow. I am at work, and did not bring my meter with me :)

I did give J.D. Slippery Elm Bark last night at +3 (after giving his meds/suppliments at AMPS), so I hope that is enough time between.

This morning, I got up at +10 and he ate a little Sophisticat on his own and then I gave him some more SEB, thinking I could give him that and his 1st feeding and then go back to bed for an hour and give him his meds/suppliments at +1 before I left the house, but that didn't work out too well as he threw it pretty much all up. So, I think I'll just have to stick with giving all his meds/suppliments at PMPS and his SEB at +3, once a day. I did bring him to bed with me for that last hour of sleep this morning, and he did purr pretty nicely. He hasn't been in my bed for a long time, and I think he really appreciated it.

We had two short walks this morning, but J.D. wasn't feeling all that wonderful. I think he always feels better when I walk out the door for the day.. :-|

Question on Zantac: I received a phone call from the compounding pharmacy yesterday saying that the chicken flavored Zantac they were going to compound for me for $56 per pop only had a shelf life of 14 days. I told her to cancel the order. I know that some of you give tablets and split them. Target is very far away from us, but I did call WalMart nearby and they have a generic form of Zantac 75 that is round in shape (so have to cut it into 8ths?) and only $0.98 for 10 pills. Does this sound okay, to use the tablets cut into eighths?

I called the IM doctor and left a message in her voice mail regarding the above. She will not be back until tomorrow and I won't have time to pick up the Zantac generic until tomorrow anyway. I just wanted to confirm that 1/8th of a Zantac 75 is the dose and a round pill is cuttable.

I am hoping that J.D. is eating some food today and did not dive as fast as he did last night.

Re: 09/09 J.D. AMPS HI, +1.5 526 - another Zantac question

We use the Zantac 75 generic form and cut it into eights using a pill cutter. Some work out better than others, and I use a headlamp to see better when I do it the cutting. We roll up the tiny piece in a bit of pill pocket and Zener thinks it's a treat. If I can't get to Target, then I'll order online from Amazon. I don't think it really matters where you get it, as long as it is convenient.

I cut up about 10 tablets at a time and keep all the small pieces in an old empty pill container labeled in big letters "ZANTAC", then I don't have to do the tiny cutting torture as often. ;-)

Paws crossed JD has some decent appy while you are out.

Glad Anne and Zener could answer your question about the Zantec. I have to cut some smallish pills into quarters at work. They end up being not much bigger than a pin head! With a tweasers to lodge them into the V of the pill spliiter, I do ok. I love the headlamp idea, too!

As always, Dyana, vines and them some.

Re: 09/09 J.D. AMPS HI, +1.5 526 - another Zantac question

When I cut Tess's cipro down I use a single edge razor blade. i find i have more control than w/ the pill cutter.

Vines for J.D. and some big hugs for you too.

Wanted to stop by and say hello. We use the generic from Walmart. I cut it as best as I can. Healing vines for JD. ((((Dyana))))

Thank you for all your replies about the Zantac. I will pick some up from WalMart tomorrow after work, as long as the Nutritionist vet who is supposed to hopefully call me back tomorrow, says it's okay.

I came home to what looked like no left out food eaten (that means Ginger didn't eat any either).

I found the teeniest poo, that might be J.D.'s
I hope I didn't jinx myself by saying the Benefiber was working.

J.D. ate almost or close to 1/2 can of MC FF Medleys when I got home from work, so he gets to skip a syringe or two.

We went for a short walk, but no poo, yet.

I do need to give him the syringe that has his Benefiber already mixed in it, and some Miralax and RenaKare in the next 10 minutes or so. He gets his Slippery Elm Bark 2 hours after that.

Thanks for all the vines :YMHUG: Please keep healing, and appy, and poo vines coming. :)
