Hello and Happy Monday LL!
China's doing OK....As usual, confounding me with which version I'm dealing with..the Real China or Pod-China that the aliens occasionally leave. Today's AMPS cycle had a pretty good drop, so I'm not surprised she's bouncing some tonight.
Sorry for being missing lately, but on top of everything else, on Saturday night I went over to my DS's house to feed his 3 droolers while he'd gone to watch some live drag racing and his wife went to celebrate her DM's birthday.
It has been over a year since I'd been around his 3 dogs, but I've cared for them before, but this time (I'm still not 100% sure what happened) I ended up getting bit on my upper right arm. The dog didn't do it out of aggression, but that doesn't make it hurt any less and it's all I can do to lift my arm, so typing is pretty painful. My son had told me that Capone was a "jumper" but he's always been so I didn't think a lot of it. Next thing I knew his head was flying past my right ear and had taken a pretty good size chunk out of my arm ....it wasn't until later on when I talked to my son that I found out he'd done the same thing when he was boarded at the vet about a month ago. The vet agreed it wasn't done out of aggression, but he did bite one of his techs, so Capone isn't welcome back there.
Needless to say I'm more than a little upset that I wasn't told this little tidbit of information until AFTER I'd been hurt or I would have been a lot more careful. I really don't blame the dog, but I do think he's got a screw loose. Unfortunately, he's a pit mix and in this area, that most likely means there's been so much irresponsible breeding that I'm not sure he can ever be "fixed", but I told DS that I wouldn't ever be dealing with him again unless he'd had some professional training. The other 2 dogs are also pits, but are the sweetest things and are no trouble at all. Capone's just plain crazy
For now, I'm just taking it easy, taking my antibiotics and now that it's been over 24 hours, putting some heat on it to try to take some of the "ache" out of it.
Bear with me...I'll be back!
