Welcome to Gracie's Wednesday condo. Marje here because I had to call in sick to work.....got a tummy bug Monday evening and have been a bit under the weather. We do appreciate all the visits on Monday and I'm sorry I didn't get back around to respond. We are sending tons of healing vines to JD, Zener, Shanti, Billie, Sasha, Elise's Mom, Amy's Dad, Wendy's Mom and extra special successful surgery vines for Cinco.

LBG is doing well but we did go back to the vet yesterday for the labs recheck and her ALT is back up from 117 to 283 :-| :-| The good thing is all her other labs, except BG, looked super. Dr. B is puzzled as, clinically, Gracie is doing wonderful and the NRT shows all her organs at a 10. This is an improvement because when her ALT, AST, etc were elevated, she wasn't at a 10 but at 5 or 6 I believe. The only change is we stopped giving her the water soluble liquid Vitamin E because the one we had contained glycerine and her BG skyrocketed. So we are going to try another one that does not have glycerine. It's been a chore trying to get hold of it but I finally was able to order it directly from the company. Should be here next week. I hope it will bring her ALT back down. Her U/S recheck is 10/2. In the meantime, she is happy as a clam. Oh...still limping. Dr. B also checked that and agreed with me that it appears to be her shoulder. We started her on traumeel and Gus's Reiki/Chiro vet is coming tomorrow.

She finally cleared the bounce and got back down to business last night. Mike was a saint and manned all the nighttime tests so I could sleep. Today is the sixth cycle after the reduction so we need to get past that to know if she will hold it.

I hope you all have a great day. If I continue to feel better as the day progresses, I'll be around tonight.

(((Marje))) ((((Gracie)))) uggggg, stomach bugs are the worst- I had that last week :YMSIGH: Best to stay home and take it easy. Clear liquids, soda crackers  I truly hope you feel better, but don't rush back to work! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Hugs to Gracie too! Great cycle, sorry the BW wasn't perfect, but WCR sure sounds great! I was wondering about the water soluble Vit E, there's always some weird additives that raise the BG! Hope you get that new one soon! Take care of yourself Marje, and hope you feel better soon! (Hopefully Mike won't get it  )

Nice numbers for Gracie today. I'm glad her labs were good, except for the alt. I hope the Vit. E helps with that.

I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sending feel better vines your way. Does Gracie's ALT ever come down to normal? If all the other numbers and the US are good would it matter if the ALT is a little high? In the back of my mind I remember my vet saying that if only the ALT is elevated it might not be significant. Max's ALT was high during pancreatitis episodes. I hope Gracie's shoulder feels better.

Sorry to hear that Gracie's ALT is high and that she is having some limping troubles! Sending feel better vines to both of you. Being sick is a good excuse to stay home and lie around with the kitties all day! That's awesome that you have a Reiki/Chiro vet. I'm sure that will help Gracie.

Billie thanks you for the vines!!

Wow, we missed last night's PJ party, darn. Glad to see the lovely  numbers, and paws crossed for improved lab values for that pesky liver.

Sending healing vines for the bean's belly!

Anne

Thank you for visiting today Ruth (hope you are better!), Carla, Rhiannon, Elise (and yes, it's usually her ALT), Deanna, Molly, and Anne. We appreciate all the vines for Missy G and me.

Both vets are beginning to wonder if this elevated ALT is Gracie because even as a kitten, she ran between 5-100 where most kitties run below 50. The only thing is, she does this vomiting early in the morning when the ALT is elevated up around 300. I wasn't surprised that it was elevated because she's had a couple vomit episodes recently. It's interesting that Max's ALT was up when he had pancreatitis. I wouldn't be surprised because of triaditis and how close the organs are there but the IM said her pancreas looks perfect. The other weird thing is the last u/s, the liver looked great but the bile duct was still dilated; however, the liver values that would be more indicative of bile duct issues are all normal and the liver value is up. Geez.

I'm going to ask the IM specialist if there could possibly be an obstruction somewhere in the liver which is causing the bile duct to be dilated. The gallbladder is normal and is small after she eats which indicates there is no obstruction of the bile duct from the gallbladder to the liver. Oy vay.

Hi Marje,

I'm so glad to see that Gracie is up to her old tricks. It sounds like even a sore paw wont stop your little girl! I don't understand anything about ALT's, bile ducts or half of what you said but I hope your paws, tummy's and ALT's are feeling better soon!
