Re: 9/26 Jenks AMPS 119 +8 312 PMPS 239 MORE JUMPING
When OH started yelling from the bedroom, I got up and ran because I thought something was wrong. Instead, I found a very content looking Jenks lying on the bed -- the same bed he hasn't been able to reach in over a year. It was, quite literally, the final frontier for him.
I've previously chronicled the return of his jumping ability within the last couple of months. First, it was to a comfy chair. Then to a loveseat window perch. Next, it was to a low-lying kitchen table. Then the cubbyhole beneath the television. Finally, to the couch. All of these were about 16-18 inches high. The bed, in contrast, is 28-30. Not only did he make this jump unassisted, he did so immediately after a trip to the litterbox, which we know is still a draining activity for him.
I'm so thrilled to see him on the bed. He loves it there. He loves to snuggle. And he looks so happy. Even though his daytime numbers show no signs of progress, it is small things like this that illustrate that we're moving in the right direction.
