Hello LL!!
Yesterday's condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=126103
I need to preface this with a BIG ANTIJINX: Billie hasn't coughed in almost 24 hours!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!
I really really hope this is the start of her getting better!
I did a few things differently after the last bad day of coughing/new hive outbreak. I switched from Evo venison to Wild Calling! rabbit, and I also gave the cats Advantage on the off chance that fleas are lurking around here somewhere (Billie is allergic to fleas...that's the only allergy I actually know for sure). So, maybe the new food is helping, or maybe the original diet change is kicking in, or maybe something in the environment changed - the weather is cooler again. I don't want to jump the gun and get too hopeful, but today is a good day and I hope tomorrow is a good day too.
I talked to Billie's allergy vet, and she said that we're still early in the food trial game (2 weeks), so the old food allergens can still be in her system causing reactions. She said to give it 2 more weeks and report back. I read her the Wild Calling! ingredients and she said it's all good instead of the Evo, so that's cool.
And, it's nice to see some blue on Billie after our dosecrease! I am a little concerned about the Wild Calling! rabbit, because it is 0.1% carbs. I am worried that she's just going to drop like crazy without any carbs to slow things down, and end up stuck in drop/bounce/drop/bounce land. Wild Calling! buffalo is 7.8%, but she doesn't love it and she didn't eat much when I mixed it in with the rabbit trying to make 4%. I'll have to figure out a strategy with that. Maybe I can mix straight buffalo with fortiflora and pork as a +1 and/or +2 treat.
We'll see. I'm just so happy that she hasn't been coughing last night or today. I think she is feeling good...she was on top of the scratching post, and Brooklyn started scratching on it but she was all up in Billie's space, so Billie bopped her on the head  That's always a good sign. They had a very intense staredown after that, and I guess it was a draw, because Brooklyn walked away and Billie jumped off the post heading in the other direction.
Sending vines to all the cats and beans in need today!!
