Crazy yesterday
Jeesh! Yesterday was totally crazy, with Zener suddenly having trouble peeing in the morning, when Anne was leaving for Berlin in the afternoon. Our wonderful vet was able to squeeze him in and found no symptoms of anything (especially cystitis). He spent 4 hours at the vet as a drop-off (without eating, oops  ). I went to pick him up because Anne needed to leave. We did manage to get home a bit before Anne left but she had to take herself to the airport because I had to give Zener fluids and then go back to the vet to pick up the meds. Like I said: CRAZY! Then his BGs dropped like a rock and he was so happy to get HC and some of his honey-laced treats. I shot a BCS dose of 1u this morning because I had to be gone most of the morning. Looks like he bounced as well as drained the shed. I shot 2u tonight and it looks like he's coming down a bit.
All good news in the peeing department, totally completely normal. The vet couldn't find any symptoms, like blood in the urine. His appy was iffy this morning but it picked up about an hour after a dose of cerenia. I like Tricia's suggestion of gas causing pain. He certainly has the digestion issues. Anyway, the good news is he's fairly perky. He had a good day doing yard patrol, even stalking a butterfly.
And he almost got in a fight.  Zener, you're too old for that foolishness. Luckily the other cat was on the fence and it was only hissing and yowling. I ran out there and scared her off. This is the same cat as the last fight, she lives a few houses around the corner.
Thinking of ailing kitties and beans. Thank you to everyone for visiting and offering support and suggestions. We really appreciate our LantusLand family.
