J.D. purred nicely last night as we snuggled before bed. He ate some FF Trout Feast at +9.75, and then was syringe fed the rest of the morning, besides going on three walks. On the first walk, we could see the stars and they are so pretty.
Ginger hasn't been coming on the walks as much lately. I don't know if it's because she is afraid of that stray or not. Hopefully not, as I wish I could depend upon her ears, nose, and night vision, to protect us (J.D.) while we are walking in the dark.

Re: 10/21 J.D. AMPS 567, +1.5 499

Nice on the snuggles last night. Hopefully Ginger will start joining you on your walks again.

On our first walk tonight, when it was still light outside, but just barely, Ginger was out with us and I watched the stray cat (looking like a black panther, even though it's a tabby, but it's big and tall) chase Ginger from where we live down to the next building over. I got J.D. inside, and grabbed my Nature's Miracle sprayer that was almost empty and I had filled with water and went to go rescue Ginger. I found both cats sitting about 3 feet from each other and not making awful noises or acting aggressive. I chased the cat away anyway, and soon Ginger came home. On our 3rd walk, just a few minutes ago, I had my sprayer and a flashlight. Ginger came with us, and I was happy about that because she can hear and see things that J.D. and I can not. The flashlight quit working halfway through, and so I got the cats heading back home. I kept looking back and soon found that stray cat in the bushes looking at us. I walked heavily and quickly up to it and it didn't run off. I got out my sprayer and sprayed at it as it ran off and sprayed the bushes pretty good. At least it will be reminded of me, when the bushes smell like Nature's Miracle.

Question: Should I be concerned that J.D. isn't peeing as much? I've noticed the past 3 or 4 days that he doesn't seem to be peeing as much volume as he usually does. I may be exagerating, but I thought he used to pee like for 12 seconds and now he is peeing for more like 3 seconds and the volume seems about 1/4 of what he normally does. He peed about 6:30pm and then again at 8:30pm. He doesn't seem to be straining. His kidneys values have all been getting better. I just wonder.
I hope I get some responses, but I'll have to read them in the morning, as 4:00am is in less than 7 hours away now, and I'm a person that needs 8 hours of sleep. So, ni~ni LLand. I hope you all have a good night, and J.D. slows down his dive.

i'm not sure, dyana. i think i'd want to know if he's holding fluid in. In a person, you can press on their leg with a finger, and if a dent remains after you remove your finger then it indicates there is some swelling from fluid. But how to know that in a cat?

Are you giving him subq fluids? Not seeing them listed in his ss.

The best guage I can think of for a cat is to keep weighing him daily. If he's retaining any significant amount of fluid, it would show up in his weight. Looks like he's holding pretty steady - he fluctuates a bit but over the past week it's basically the same. I think i'd keep watching that.

Not sure what to think about that black/tabby cat. Seems to want to adopt your family!

I was thinking the same thing as Julie about that stray - I think it's envious of J.D. and Ginger, having a Mama to take care of them. Maybe it was asking Ginger about you!

Has J.D.'s water consumption changed at all? That would certainly affect the volume of pee.

Sending lots of good appy vines for J.D.
