Hello LL!!

Billie is off her ABs! She had more diarrhea last night and this morning. I called the vet to let him know, and he said it would be okay to stop the ABs early. She had 5 days of Clavamox and 4 days of Veraflox, so hopefully, that kicked the UTI and hopefully, her diarrhea clears up now. It is certainly nice to skip the liquid meds.

We can't get too comfortable yet, because she has been messing with her left ear today - shaking her head, and scratching/pawing it. It also looks like she is holding it a little flat sometimes, but not all the time. It is her poke ear, so maybe it hurts (I hope not!) but all my pokes have been pretty on point lately - no mess ups or overly vampiric pricks. I am worried that she has a yeast infection brewing after being on the ABs. I know that has happened to me, and I'm guessing it can happen to kitties too. Paws crossed that it's nothing...

On the bright side, she is eating very well and still loving the new food. She is curled up in the window seat napping now, and she is the spitting image of October - fluffy black cat curled up by a window, trees losing their autumn leaves in the background. I want to take a picture, but I don't want to wake her up.

Glad Billie's off the a/b. They can mess with a kitty's innards. But, ugh on the ear shake. Hope it resolves.

Nice Billie report...yay for being done with meds, and hopefully that means her tummy will settle. Hopefully the ear itching is just a flukey thing.

Yeah for being off AB! And also yeah for a great appetite!! Gosh I hope the ear thing goes away, whatever it is, sending "make it go away" vines!!!

I read up on the side effects of Veraflox, and itching is one of them (along with diarrhea of course). So, maybe the itchy ear is connected. She does seem to be grooming and itching more overall today. She was doing a bit of tail chewing this evening too. Of course, my paws are crossed that it's not a food allergy to something in the Instinct that she loves. I tried to give her Wild Calling again and she rejected it, so I really hope she does well on the Instinct. I'll give her a day or so and see if things clear up as the Veraflox is out of her system.

She did have another diarrhea episode tonight. Poor Billie. It has been happening kind of like clockwork every 12ish hours since late Saturday night. So, it's like she is on a fairly normal poo schedule...but the poo is diarrhea. I suppose that's better than more frequent diarrhea. I have been giving her fortiflora but it doesn't seem to be making a difference. The vet I talked to on the phone (not our usual vet) suggested rice since she won't eat pumpkin or squash, but I certainly don't want to carb her up...especially with this PMPS. What's up with that, Billie? I guess she could have gone lower earlier today and it could be a bounce, but it could also be a not feeling well high number. If she doesn't get better by tomorrow night, I think a trip to the vet is in our future.
