Holy moly, how is it already November??? It's starting out as a cold and rainy one, here.

All is well in TrixieLand...appy is happy, kitty is snuggly, no gelcap issues for the last few days (although we did have a bad one a couple nights ago). We even had a mini Happy Crap Dash....more like a Happy Crap Scurry  !!! She's such a cutie pie.

Of course, though, Ms P still seems a bit sluggish and MamaBean is scratching her head, trying to figure out what to do - which, so far, has amounted to "want-n-see", since her number DO come down. I also happened to remember that in the past, for whatever reason that I could never figure out (other than "she's a cat), this was the time of year she often fell out of regulation after being very tightly regulated for months. It was an odd phenomenon...and now I wonder if this is Trix's OTJ version of that.

Thank you, everyone, for sharing her Gotcha Day yesterday! We had a lovely evening hanging out and just "being". We do Trix a big favor and skip Trick or Treaters...it makes me feel like a grump, but she is terrified of the doorbell and the chaos, and we won't put her through that. And all the kiddie noise from Halloween also makes the civvies very antsy...they get over-stimulated and start scuffling, so we keep it dark-n-calm here.

My Dad did start the big crash yesterday...we always hope it won't happen, but it's no real surprise that it does. He was sleeping when I called last evening, but I had a nice talk with my Mom. She is a huge worrier, but it sounds like she's finally getting used to the crashes and said "...but he'll get through it - he always does." That was really good to hear from her.

Time to get moving...have a great day, LL!

Amy

I'm glad you had a nice day hanging out yesterday. I don't do trick or treat either. Most of my kitties are scared of the doorbell.

I'm sorry your dad has to have these crashes. I hope it is a short one. Keeping him in my prayers. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Hi Amy! I would (and do) the same, to not stress out the kitties;) I loved the pics on FB yesterday too (so cute!), and it was great to read Trixies story again. Paws crossed that Ms P will kick in and bring Trixie down to the lagoon again soon. It's interesting the way some kitties BG seems to go with the time of year, I've read others comment on that too.

I'm sorry that your Dad (and family) has to go through all this. Prayers that he will recover quickly from the crash. Hugs to you! I hope you have a great weekend:)

Good morning, Amy. And Trixie, too. (Well, it's still morning here!)

I think the season change could contribute to Trixie's numbers. At the sanctuary we notice a marked increase in various health issues each fall and spring. Kind of like Dawn Phenomenon 'cept I guess it's Seasonal Phenomenon! And, hey, she's happy, appy, and CDSing. That's all you need to know!

No Trick or Treat kids here. Small town. Huge Trunk 'n' Treat downtown with lots of activites at the local school. Great for the kids; better for us curmudgeons! Plus, we're a very dog-populated town (over 400 sanctuary employees live in the area and most have at least one dog) and I suspect all that barking keeps folks wary of ringing doorbells!

Glad to see your mother has "accepted" the normalcy of the crash. It is, after all, just part of the process. Can't really do anything to make it better. I sort of viewed it as an excellent opportunity to nap!

Have a good one.

I agree that it could be a seasonal thing. As long as the numbers come down, I wouldn't worry. Plus, with such a great WCR, how can you be anything but happy?

We do hand out candy - don't want to chance eggs on the cars, etc., although I doubt that would happen here. We ran out last year, so I bought more candy this time around. So of course, we had fewer kids this year - perhaps due to the weather. It was rainy and cold all day, although it did stop before sunset. Now we have two huge (Costco sized) bags of candy!!! :o What to do? Neither of us needs it. I usually take my leftovers to bowling on Monday night, as does everyone else, and we have a candy pig out! This may take a couple of weeks to disperse.

Sorry your DF is having to go through the crash again. Sending vines and prayers that it is short and not as bad as previous ones. I'm glad your DM is coming to terms with it - it's so hard to watch those you love suffer and be helpless to fix it! :YMHUG:

I hope the crash ends quickly for your DF. Sending vines. Trixie is doing great. Yea for that!!

Happy belated Gotcha day!! What a cool story! A sad beginning, but it turned out so well :-D It is wonderful that you ended up together.

I can definitely relate to wanting to avoid the trick or treaters for the kitties. I live in an apartment building so I don't get them anyway, but both cats are absolutely terrified of the doorbell here. It sends them into a panic...much like the vacuum!

Sending vines to your dad. I hope he feels better soon.
