I'm 99% sure JuJu got into KiKi's (our civvie) kibble sometime overnight. So he had HC twice in the last 12 hrs or so. I'm assuming that's why his numbers spiked over night.

KiKi has been acting "off" since late last night. We couldn't get her to eat, so we stashed a little kibble in the spare bathroom so we could get to it easier in order to offer her some throughout the night. Well, one of us forgot to close the door to the bathroom and there was a void in the middle of the food bowl.

I just tried to get KiKi to eat, she won't. She was also showing aggression towards Ava last night, very out of character. I'm gonna wait a couple hours and try to feed her again. If she still doesn't eat, she's headed to the vet. She's purring at the moment but she looks like she's in pain just trying to walk around. She just went pee but no number 2. She (JuJu too) has also been scratching her ears a lot over the last couple days. We couldn't see and flea/mites.

Re: 11/10 JuJu AMPS 353

Silly JuJu!! Don't you know eating kibble will slow down your path to OTJ? I hope KiKi feels better and a vet trip is not needed.

Re: 11/10 JuJu AMPS 353

These kitties sure know how to track down contraband! Sending prayers that Kiki is feeling better ASAP.....keep us posted!

Re: 11/10 JuJu AMPS 353

Lol, right?! Silly and sneaky.

Ava gets home at 3pm. I'll monitor KiKi till then but I'm thinking she needs to see the doc. I'll keep you posted.

Re: 11/10 JuJu AMPS 353/+2 234/+3 121

He's dropping a bit faster than yesterday. I think we're looking good though. I'm gonna get a +3.5 to make sure he's slowing down a bit.

+4 79

Hopefully he will surf in the

Hi there

First green you caught on 0.1u  Fingers crossed for a nice surf.
So happy to see ketones are NEGATIVE :-D and that the WCR is good.

Hope Kiki gets sorted out at the vet - our kitties keep us hopping that's for sure!

Re: 11/10 JuJu AMPS 353/+2 234/+3 121/+3.5 113/+4 79

I gave him some LC with a tiny drop of honey. I think he's looking good but I would like to avoid another 12 Hr drop cycle. It could throw a wrench into his PMPS.

Also, just used my last ReliOn test strip. I'll be switching to the GlucoCard 01 strips. I was told they're compatible with my meter. Should I expect to see a variance?

Re: 11/10 JuJu AMPS 353/+2 234/+3 121/+3.5 113/+4 79

I use both kinds of test strips and have not noticed any variance. I buy whichever I can get for less money. I scored 400 relion ones for $80 last week. I just tested using both meters and got a 57 and a 59 and used the glucocard 01 with both meters.

$0.20 per, nice!

+5 81

He flattened out, hopefully the tiny drop of honey doesn't spike him too much. We're getting better but the stress level is still a bit high. Especially now that KiKi isn't feeling well. Ava just got home and could barely walk because her back hurts so bad. I just got called in to work tonight. Breathe, just breathe. :YMSIGH:

Re: 11/10 JuJu AMPS 353/+2 234/+3 121/+4 79/+6 104/+9 137

We missed KiKi's trip to the vet. I had to take Ava to the chiro. I called the vet and said we could still make it but it would be late. They told us unless we could make it by 4:30, we wouldn't be able to see the doc. Gonna take her tomorrow afternoon.

The chiro said he has worked on corpses that weren't as stiff as Ava's back. We have to go back tomorrow so he can work on her some more.

+9 137

Junior seems to be doing well. I have to work late tonight so I probably won't be home until 5am. Ava is exhausted so she won't be able to monitor JuJu much after his +2. That means JuJu will have 4hrs before peak that he won't be monitored properly. I'm thinking about having Ava give him <0.1u. Thoughts?

PMPS 178

I will be working late and Ava is exhausted, so we decided to give JuJu <0.1u. He seemed to run very flat, albeit high, on that dose. We just feel it's safer because we won't be able to test as frequently as normal. Hopefully he reacts well and we can get him back on 0.1u tomorrow.

sorry no one caught your question tonight, matt. it helps if you put up the ? post icon that's just to the right of the OTJ icon in the row above the posting window. People scan for the question marks first when they get on the board.

you can also put "dose advice needed" in the subject line. that works too!

When you can't monitor, erring on the side of caution is always ok. Having plenty of LC food out is another possibility.

I hope Ava's back feels better after a good night's sleep! Fingers crossed that Kiki is back to normal tomorrow, too.

Thanks, Julie. I know there could have been others with more important questions that needed immediate answers. JuJu has been receiving lots of attention lately, so I figured it was someone else's turn.

It was more of a confirmation than a question, anyways. Ava got a +2 173, so I did tell her to leave out a little LC. He normally gets about 1oz at +2/+4/+6. Since I won't be home for his +4 and possibly not even +6, I thought it best to leave some out for him.

KiKi will be seeing the doc tomorrow. She didn't eat all day and Barely nippled yesterday.

Hi Matt and Ava

I hope Ava is better today and everything is ok with KiKi. Please keep us posted.

I'm so happy to see JuJu doing well on 0.1u. You did great last night with your decision.m I'm very sorry no one caught your question. Don't worry about others needing help. We always make "?" A priority and will get to them all. As Julie said, adding something about the dose in your subject line will let us prioritize. It's very sweet of you to think of others first but we want JuJu to continue to do well, too.

I know dropping numbers...esp if they see fast...can be worrisome but if he drops again today very similar to yesterday, try just his LC and see how he does......if you have a big drop into green around +4/+5 from blue. I say this mainly because he is getting close to nadir and so he might slow himself down with LC. Of course, if he drops fast from a much higher number into green at +2.....thats a different story and some gravy is warranted. We had thst scenario the other day so you know how that works.

I hope you get some rest today. Many healing vines to KiKi and Ava.
