I'm still waking up at the DST hour nos matter what time I go to sleep. :roll: Then Max was trying to vomit but nothing came up. I heard a lot of grooming from under the bed.

So the pen was left out again but it is almost at the end and the 28 days already started ticking. I checked out the one I used a few times before I switched to this one and was going to use it but it has lots of bubbles in it so it will be thrown out. I'll start the new one soon.

Nice surf today, Max. Did he eat after the vomiting episode?

DH has left our vial out a few times, but we keep the house pretty cool, so I don't get too concerned about it. We're at about 5 months + on it now, so I'm starting to think about asking for a new script. Now that we go to UCD for Cinco's regular care, I'll see if they'll let me get pens instead of a vial. It just seems much more economical to me.

Hi Tricia. He didn't vomit anything up though he sure tried. I did TFS an hour later and he ate. I noticed he had stuff stuck to his fur and I heard a lot of grooming so perhaps that was the problem. He definitely was busy cleaning back there.

I took trendy off from spin as I was simply lazy. I hope I get to go most days the rest of the week. I hate to pass in a workout when Max looks okay and I dont get frantic calls from my sister as I'm ready to walk out the door. Selfishly it sort of killed yesterday's ride and while it could have waited and didn't merit a call as soon as you can because we have problems over here.

As for pens vs vials I seem to have major issues with owns and bubbles but I have one more left to try and get it right. I'l continue with them if the $25 coupon really works at Target but if not will likely get another vial. I seem to be way in the minority with the bubble issue though so it might be fine for you.

I forgot I wasn't going to feed Max again after the last test to see if he would have dropped without food but he was hungry so I did. I'm trying to figure out when it's safe to leave him. Thanks for the prayers. I hope today will be a better one for my DM. My back seems to be doing better.

It sounds like Max was trying to get a hairball out. I hope he keeps surfing safely for you today. Keeping your mom in my prayers.

Thanks, Carla for visiting. I think it was fur too. Lately he never throws up a furball but will sometimes throw up some fur.

An interesting thing I just observed. Last night after the last test I put out a little lc just in case he wasn't done dropping. He meowed looking up at my bed so I picked him up and put him on my bed. That didn't go too well because when I petted him he got stimulated, bit me and drew blood. I put him down and he went to his bed so I picked up the food as I didn't want him eating too late in the cycle. Just now he had dropped from +5 so I put out a little lc which he didn't touch. I think it might be an indication that he won't drop any more. I'm going to pick up the food and test at +7 before I leave and see where he is at.

Elise, air bubbles in the pen isn't going to hurt anything....as long as the insulin is still clear, doesn't have any "floaties" (and still working) there's no reason you need to throw it out just because of air bubbles. Try as hard as I can, I still get some air bubbles by the time I get about half way into the pen...hasn't ever affected China's numbers

If the coupon doesn't work at Target and you have time, you might consider ordering your next insulin from Canada. There are lots of us that are using the same pharmacy and you can't beat $133.99 for a box of 5 pens

They do offer vials too for $91.99....Shipping is another $25 but so far everyone I've heard from has been thrilled with the customer service.

It used to be Marks Marine Pharmacy, but they had so many sugarmoms calling to get Lantus that they actually ran out! They've restocked now though and have a separate website JUST for insulin! It's at http://www.canshipinsulin.com

They are great people and very nice to work with. You can call and talk to them just like a real pharmacy (not like the other "website" pharmacies that don't have such a good reputation from Canada)

Hope Max feels better soon! Sounds like he's being a little grumpy! Might want to remind him that it's never a good idea to bite the hand that feeds you!!

Thanks, Chris. I remember when you first posted about it. I think there was a way that you could get credit of some kind for it. Let me know how that works. The pen I have been using has some bubbles and has been fine. When I first started with the pens Max's numbers were high and we thought it might be the pen. So I went back to the vial until it was no good. Then I started a new pen. Early on I might have mixed them up but wasn't sure. He's doing so well I am scared to try the 99% full one that has lots of bubbles in it. It is clear without floaties though. I have one left that has never been pierced. They are all from the same batch. I still have a little left in the pen I have been using before I need to decide.

i had a pen, once, with ton of bubbles so I called the company and they said that sometimes, in transit, the pens get bubbles but, as Chris said, as long as the insulin is clear and has nothing floating in it, it's fine. That's when we used lantus; I've never had it happen with a lev pen but I believe lev is a bit more viscous than lantus.

I hope you have a great evening and your mom is doing better. I got a call this morning that my mom went to the hospital via ambulance because she had an excruciating headache and limited neck mobility. Her WBC is out the roof so they tried to do a spinal tap, suspecting meningitis, but she has too much scar tissue in her back. So they've started her on IV vincamycin and will try to do the tap tomorrow under general anesthesia. Always something. :roll:

Hi Marje. Looks like there will be a pj party over here. Just gave him hc+karo as it is so early. That pen has so many bubbles and it's almost full. I don't know if it started out like that because I didn't look that closely. It's good to know they don't mean anything.I just saw the first part of your message on my phone.
