Yesterday's Not So Happy Birthday Condo
Another day, another cat not eating. Well, I really can't say that, as Minka has been kind of off her her food for a while, but as of yesterday she was officially refusing to eat. :roll: No vomiting or lip smacking. Just turns away. Last night I opened one of those FF broth packets, with tuna and crab. She drank the liquid and left the meat. This morning I offered her some boiled chicken in broth and she drank the broth and left the chicken, but at least she's getting something. It must be some bug Harvey and she have shared between them. They do often eat off the same plate. So now I'm being really careful about not using the same plates or utensils, etc. with the other two. The last thing I need is for Cinco or Sasha to catch it!
Harvey is definitely better today, but still somewhat off. He ate some more baby food this morning, and he has been drinking water and chicken broth, so I feel encouraged that this is a fairly short -term thing. I'll just have to watch Minka to see if she improves. I really don't want to have to haul anyone to the vet. She is due for bloodwork next month, though, so maybe we'll end up doing it a little sooner.
Cinco is surfing yellow. I hope that doesn't mean a drop tonight, as we're doing our birthday dinner with our friends in Sacramento. Followed by cards, of course. Still nothing wrong with his appy (anti-jinx).
Sasha is about the same - she ate about a tablespoon of cat food this morning, then about 1/3 of a jar of baby food. I gave her a Cerenia, which she spit out after eating the pill masker. I then dropped it in a spoon and covered it with the Nuti-cal and she licked it all up! Score one for the bean!
Got to go wrap presents for Kathy (the in-house cat sitter/bowling team member), as her birthday is the same as mine and we're doing the gift exchange tonight after dinner.
