Vesta is doing very well--Just leave out lots of food & do you have a timed feeder?? Terrific help for us all--
She is looking great! On 0.5 U--excellent job !! Keep it up !
An FD cat will eat when it feels itself dropping, so food is essential--I think you've got it! :mrgreen:

See what your AMPS is and post. There's a good chance it will be higher. You've shot a 78 and all was good. If you are nervous about the number, you can shave the dose. Alternatively, you can leave some MC food out for while you're gone.

Wow, Vesta is looking really good! Leave lots of food out for her... oh I see Roni is a quicker typist than me and so is Sienne. I need caffeine. :-D

As Sienne mentioned I might shave the dose too if the AMPS number is too scary.

It's true about the timed feeder - it reduces your stress about being away and not able to feed if Vesta goes low. They do eat when low; I've seen Shadoe do just that.

The feeder we have:

you can leave a little something for every 2 hours or whatever times you like.

Yeah, we ordered the feeder, now just waiting for it to arrive.

I'm hopeful about the AMPS, she has a trend of dropping from +11 to AMPS to +2.

I agree with the slightly shaved dose and leaving food out. She (and you guys) are doing very well. :)

Thank you for all the support. These are the scary days. I like to be here to see the numbers, but have to trust it will work out.

She will be okay - I know it's scary - we shoot low to stay low and it works. Leave out lots of food. She nadirs quickly and will eat when she needs it. Have a lovely day.

I feel much better when leaving because I have an idea of how Shadoe and Oliver will go, sort of. You will also get to know Vesta's patterns and tricks and then you will have an idea what to expect.

When in doubt, I just leave out lots of food, because I know they will eat when they go low; I have seen it. If I come home to high numbers from all the food, so be it.

Once you have done some curves and actually see, real time, what the numbers are and how Vesta is acting, you will feel better. Say you see Vesta eating lots and you test to find a low number, you will see that she is OK to handle her own numbers.

With the low numbers, the first ones you get, it is scary, but she will be fine and so will you.

Ah man, not as good as I had hoped for the PMPS. I was hoping for under 150.

Hoping we can normalize with the usual plan of 0.5units with 1/2can LC at PMPS and again at +2.

I think it would have been more aggressive if AMPS wasn't so low. Sigh.
 
I'll be up bright and early tomorrow.

Another bad day. Have to run outta here even faster than yesterday.

Now that I've thrown her off, maybe I'll get a more comforting amps number to shoot so I don't overreact and push her high again.
