I'm going to try to get readings every 3 hours today...

I also did my best to look at her teeth, and I don't see any redness or inflammation. There's a little bit of tartar, but I think they look pretty good. The vet also did a whole exam on Monday and didn't mention any dental issues.

Good to know that Emma's teeth are good. The only additional observation I'd share is that when Gabby got her last dental, the vet didn't think her teeth had a great deal of tartar. Once Gabby was under anesthesia and the vet was doing the dental, she found tartar on her back molars that she couldn't see on a routine physical exam.

Could you test sooner than +6? A test at +4 or +5 may be good to see. I'm not sure how quickly Emma is dropping and since this is very early in your record keeping, we don't yet know what her pattern is. (And you'll probably see some blue so it would be nice to see those numbers!)

So, she's at 209 for +5 today.

I dug out some of my old data when we first started testing back in late 07/early 08. She had been on the kidney diet (I think it was the k/d food) for a while and her BG went crazy. Being the geeky engineer that I am, I graphed it all, and her BG stayed relatively flat during the day, but at night they skyrocketed. This was all before insulin though. But, maybe the same will hold true now - anyone have thoughts on that? I'll try to get more tests in tonight around the same times my old data showed the BG rising.
