In the red this morning, but lower than PMPS and our +3 last night. I'd rather see her decline slowly than see the significant drop we saw yesterday. I need to go into the office today, but am going to try and come home mid-day.

AMPS 408 - fed 1 can FF
+1 - put out another 1/2 can FF for mid morning snacking
+7 357
PMPS 376 - fed 1 can FF
+3 394 - put out another 1/2 can FF for overnight snacking

Re: 7/1 Casper AMPS 408 +7 357

Thanks Kath! As much I hate to see red or black (especially after we were doing so well initially), there was a sense of relief that she wasn't higher this morning than she was last night. I had hoped to get out of work to be here at +6, but I'm thinking our +7 isn't that far off of nadir. So, hopefully we've got a nice moderate curve going on today.

Crossing my fingers that today was relatively stable and that we don't see any weird bounces tonight. DH is getting the hang of testing. Now if we can just get Miss Casper to let him do it without me being right by her side to keep her calm. We've got about 10 days before I have to go out of town. So I'm going to have him take over the entire test-shoot-feed duties in hopes that she'll relax and realize that she needs to buck up and cooperate with DH if she wants her breakfast and dinner.

I was just looking back over your notes on Casper's SS. When Casper's numbers started going up, did the vet rule out the need for a dental?

Remind DH that he needs to be confident. He he's nervous about testing, Casper will sense it and get squirmy and uncooperative. If he treats it as business as usual, Casper will be fine. Also, will DH be able to get in the needed spot checks?

No - he didn't mention anything about her teeth during our last visit. Is there something specific I should look for? I haven't noticed anything unusual or significant change in the past month.

As for DH, I think it has more to do with Casper's temperment towards other people. But you do bring up a good point about he needs to act confident and let her know that he gets to be the boss for about 5 minutes. As for spot checks, DH will not be able to do any spot checks between AMPS and PMPS. But he will able to do a check before he goes to bed.

I had him "favorite" these boards and am encouraging him to peruse at leisure. That way if anything comes up, he can come ask for help if he can't get ahold of me.
