Buddy seems fine tonight...

ques: I leave a lot of wet food out when I'm gone because I have 5 cats and a lil dog that likes to snack on cat food...

lately, there has been a lot of food left over when I get home at the end of the day. How do I know when it is ok to cut back on what I leave out and how much should I cut back...or should I not cut back?

any advice with this would be great

I wish I knew the answer to that! I generally end up throwing some food out every day. On the other hand, there are days when you'd think I hadn't fed my 2 for a week. Is there any way you can monitor who's eating what and how much over a weekend?

Wow, left over food with a drooler around. Humm - have you recently switched brands/flavor that maybe they don't like? How much food do you leave out and what do you feed? Will they normally eat the dry crumblies of the wet food as it dries?
Does Buddy feed his lows?
I suppose you could start cutting back - estimate about 1/4 of what looks like is left and give that a few days - then maybe cut back another 1/4 of what is left?? That's all suggestions but nothing based on experience.
(when my one feral visits in the am I give him all the left overs with some fresh stuff mixed in - he doesn't care :smile: )
