8/3 Emma AMPS 320 +10 279 PMPS 300 +4.5 226

Yesterday

Well, Emma did have some nice blues last night, but we're back to the pinks this morning - definitely higher than her AMPS has been for a while. She's been sitting in the mid-yellows most days. Yesterday while I was gone at work she was hungry and ate everything I left for her, but last night she didn't. She was probably snacking right up until shot time, and there was food left in the dish.

On a good note, I can see she's feeling a little better. She was on my bed at 3 AM washing her face. Usually when she's not feeling good she stays downstairs and lounges on the couch, but she ventured upstairs to join the rest of us, and was happy enough to purr when I reached over to pet her. That makes me happy. :smile: I know she's feeling good when she's up on my bed purring. I'll continue with the grapefruit seed extract for the rest of the week, just in case...

Hope Emma leaves the pinks behind, but its nice to read she is feeling better and social.

Hey there - how do you give her the grapefruit seed extract? Sometimes I add that to my neti pot (in very small amounts) - thinking maybe I could add it to the nose drop solution I've created for Kasha as well. But it's so bitter, I'm wondering how you administer it to Emma...

Thanks all - looks like she probably spent the day in the yellows, if not down into the blues a bit. She's been a little high lately...wonder if that's the beginning of the UTI messing with her BGs.

Krys, I just saw your post about Kasha (so sorry!), so I doubt this is high on your list of things to think about, but I give Emma the grapefruit seed extract diluted in 2.5-3 mL of water. She gets one drop of GSE in a 3 mL syringe of water. When I think she has an infection coming on, I do that 3-5 times a day. And I had been putting two drops in her water dish, but for some reason I stopped. I don't remember why - I think I just forgot about it for a while. She would tolerate the 2 drops, but wouldn't drink the water if I put anymore than that in the dish. I'm not sure how you'd handle it in a nasal spray. I would think it would be irritating that way. Giving it orally, I follow up with a nice chicken treat. But she clearly does not like it when I'm giving it to her.

As shocking as this sounds, I actually went out...on a weeknight...to a movie! If you're into movies that make you think, go see Inception. It was pretty good.

Looks like the girl survived ok without me. Just got a +4.5, and she's at 226. Not as low as last night, but at least it's not pink! She seems to be pretty perky this evening too. Too bad it's time for bed now!

It might be worth considering raising Emma's dose.. BTW, you have Emma's 226 coded blue on your SS. Should be yellow.
