Good morning all!

Well, it was a crazy night last night. I stalked Emma for a while, but still had no luck. I put her in the box several times, but she wasn't going to cooperate. Then I walked upstairs for about a minute, and she used it while I was up there. :YMSIGH: So no luck. But, on a good note I did get to go out for dinner and a movie  And Emma was in the blues when I got home too, so that's good.

This morning she's mellow yellow with a 266 AMPS. She's a happy kitty today, purring through her test. I'll be home later and will start the stalking again. The vet called yesterday afternoon to say they didn't see any bacteria in the urine that they collected from her carrier (when she peed all over the place because the vet tech touched her), but that has happened more than once before. They don't see it til they culture it.

Sorry I didn't visit any condos yesterday. I'll drop by when I get home from work today!

Re: 8/11 Emma AMPS 266

hope you get that sample today.
Emma lets see some blues, you're already sunny yellow so it won't be too hard to come down

Re: 8/11 Emma AMPS 266

Morning Kristen! Wondering if she would go with you if you put her in a bathroom for awhile....maybe after giving her tuna water or something? For the ketone tests, people have some luck with the saran wrap on top of the LB but I suppose you have to "catch" a sample, right? That is different....Seriously, it's like trying to catch the wind...right? I have had success with my male but the female is really into her privacy it seems cause I never see her using the LB...I wish you lots of luck!

Re: 8/11 Emma AMPS 266 +9.5 207, and a urine sample!

Howdy -

We have success! About 10 minutes after I got home, she wandered into the bathroom and voila! I caught her in the act and was able to do a free catch. I've already delivered it to the vet's office!

She was at 207 when I got home, so I'm assuming she was in the blues for a good part of the day. Hooray! Though I am wondering if it might be time for a dosecrease.

I'm currently being amused by one of the dogs playing with Emma's little catnip toy. Charlotte is writhing around on the carpet, holding the little 3" soft toy in her mouth and is as happy as can be. Who knew it took so little to make her happy? :-D

Re: 8/11 Emma AMPS 266 PMPS 258, and a urine sample!

Just know that if something grows in that culture, it may not be due to Emma having a UTI. The sample was contaminated. I hate to see you paying for a C & S from a non-sterile collection.

Re: 8/11 Emma AMPS 266 PMPS 258, and a urine sample!

Thanks Sienne. I do know that, but we've pretty much exhausted all of our options with regard to getting a sample from her. The last time they tried, I took her in 3 separate times and they had no success. The vet tech coming to the house doesn't work either - she still freaks out and pees everywhere. The only time they were successful in the last several years was when she was sedated.

It's a sealed, sterile sample cup, and I make sure I don't touch the edges, and it doesn't touch Emma. I know it's still contaminated, but it's the best we can do. She is a miserable patient!

Re: 8/11 Emma AMPS 266 PMPS 258, and a urine sample!

YAY on the sample - sometimes we just do the best we can - especially when the patient says no way. One of my civvies is that way - she even will not pee if she senses anyone near. so annoying! Hope you guys have a great night!

and she's made it into the blues with 183 at +2.75 and 157 at +4. I'll try to stay awake a little longer and get another test in before I pass out...
