Good Morming Everybody
All is normal around here. Jumped up on testing table for testing Had breffis. Drink at bathroom sink. Checked out screen on porch for overnight visitors. Came back for more breakfast. Jumped up on testing table again for shooting. Such a good boy.
Bean has to go out for the day, at +4, so will feed according to his numbers then.
Thank you Libby and Jill for last night's advice about feeding.

Will check condos to see what our kitty friends are doing, later today.

Re: 9/15 Checkers~amps 400

oh my checkers ... you couldn't have come down just one teeny bit and been on the pink floor, not the red one?? Well you have all day to come down nice and slow especially since your momma has to go out and leave for awhile. Don't do anything crazy but come on down!

"Checkers-kitty...come on down! This is your chance to play "slow descent for the bean"!

Re: 9/15 Checkers~amps 400 +1/403..+2/277

Breffis before shot, and little more after shot, and snack at +1, still did not keep him from dropping 126 points in an hour.
I leave in less than 90 minutes.......anyone care to say that I should NOT give some MC before I go?.
Rather he be too high than too low, when I'm not here.
thanks

Re: 9/15 Checkers~amps 400 +1/403..+2/277

See what he is before you go Barb and then feed what you think is best. The MC will keep him higher so that might be the way to go...that's my opinion anyway....did you feed him at +2? Hope you have a good day today! :YMHUG:

ETA: I just read what Libby and Jill wrote yesterday...applies to every day. If you have to go out and he is dropping the data you have shows that he will continue to drop, right? Err on the side of caution. If he goes higher later, you will know that it is from the food...no problem. I would do the MC if he is still dropping...if you fed at +2, he might be at a decent number, but you wnat to protect him from further drops, right?

Re: 9/15 Checkers~amps 400 +1/403..+2/277

Nice to see the yellow, but I understand the worry. And the feelings about giving MC when you don't know that they will be needed. I agree though that I'd rather be safe than sorry. Remind me that I said this when I am dithering on Saturday.

Re: 9/15 Checkers~amps 400 +1/403..+2/277

Barb - no advice from me, but I know what you're feeling. I fret over it every day when I leave for work. Good luck with Checkers today.

Well +4 test never happened. He was hiding, possibly knew I was going out and thought it was a vet trip. Couldn't find him.
After giving 1/2 teas mc mixed with lc. at +3, to try to avoid a drop,, couldnt check again before leaving house.
Left large serving of LC ....actually, NO carb FF.

Crazy with anxiety all day, not knowing if he was crashing, or soaring from tiny mc. He really is carb sensitive.
Came home at +10, to 420...He was hungry...fed spoon of turkey LC.

By ps, we had 439. Fed another spoon LC.
Knowing him, he'll probably drop a lot in the next couple hours.

Wondering if a little gravy or mc, would slow the usual drop to +2. How can it hurt? The LC doesn't slow it down.

Barb, I don't think it can hurt to try it. The worst that will happen is that it won't work out the way you want it to, and you will have more data to help you figure out what will work.

I say go for it! Of course it's up to you. I experiment all the time, it helps me figure things out.
