Totally swamped and dead tired today. Didn't have time to post earlier and I'm on a crappy training computer right now. I don't completely remember her morning PS number - think it's 121, but I'll correct later if I'm wrong.

She ate last night but didn't like her offering this morning. She ended up eating around 1 Tbsp Wellness breakfast and then I force fed 2 Tbsp Wellness before leaving for work. Then I left out the remaining 9% FF medleys for her.

She (and I) slept very well last night. I basically passed out on the couch till just before 3 am when I gave her about 1 Tbsp wellness snack. She was sleeping so hard in one of her beds that she didn't hear me moving around. Same thing this morning on my bed- she was sleeping so hard, she didn't notice me turn on the light or feed Blue or anything till I sat down to test her ear. Then she jerked away with a startled look on her face, big eyes, worried... like she knew she wasn't supposed to sleep that deeply. But I told her not to worry about it - she needs that sleep.

No time to share any long stories today. Here's a quick one:

We used to go to a park near the beach. We walked the length of the beach once, Kasha on her leash... There's a big hill at one end that goes up to a park area and she dragged me up that hill one day. All 11 lbs or so of her pulling me along. One day we were walking in the park above the beach and she saw a squirrel. it was a really big squirrel and she hid under my long skirt, peering out. I crouched down and she turned to me. She climbed up onto me and put her paws around my neck. It was the one and only time that happened (she is NOT a cuddle cat, she likes her own space). BF said to me when it happened "I bet you are LOVING this..." And I was. That was when we'd just adopted her and it made me feel good to think that when she was feeling threatened, she turned to me and I made her feel safe...

Krys......you are doing a great job w/Kasha. Make sure you are also taking good care of YOURSELF too.

And loved your story about Kasha vs the squirrel.....thanks for sharing it with us today.

You know she trusts you like no other. Aloofness seems to be built in to cats. But you are her bean. And she loves you completely.

Very sweet story, Krys.
I hope you both can catch up on some good sleep, now :-D

What a sweet story. It's a pretty rare thing to be shown how completely we are trusted and loved by our furbabies.

Thanks for posting the link to yesterday's condo, Pat. I was using a different browser, couldn't do copy link like usual but I did open the link and copy the URL, and still forgot to put it in the post! My brain is mush.

She's not eating so well tonight. I didn't offer the MC medleys - they might be the reason - or part of the reason - her PMPS was so high. But since she dropped down to 88, I'm ok with that. We tried a new food today - cowboy cookout. I can't find it anywhere near me - they have other flavors, but not that one. I didn't want to order a case until she tried some, so someone who lives about an hour from me picked one up for me and brought it to me at work. Kasha seemed to like it - she won't eat the chunks of meat in it, but it's mostly the right saucy consistency for her to lick up. I don't know how much she ate, but she seemed to lick a good amount off a spoon. I did force feed 2 Tbsp Wellness for dinner to make sure she got enough food down (she kind of turned her nose up when I offered her food to eat on her own).

She keeps going into the bathroom and lying on the bathmat in there. Not sure why. It's convenient for me to steam her when I shower, but kind of odd behavior otherwise. I put a bowl of water in there for her so she won't have to go far for her sips of water.

Hi Krys, Thanks so much for your words of comfort in Stu's condo today. I didn't know that Kasha had had the radioiodine treatment and am very happy to hear that she was cured of her hyperthyroidism after having it. It gives me a lot of hope for Stu.

It's good that Kasha slept so soundly today. She needs that in order to heal. And I hope that you will get some much needed rest tonight. Have a good night with your furbabies and give your horse a pat for me. I love horses and spent a lot of hours with them as a girl.
