WCR Only 3Ps in place today. No preying today  Probiotics doing their job no diarrhea but not like usual. I think he may have accepted "something different" in his food. He was happy that he got a tooth cleaning treat. If he starts acting like his tummy is bothering him vet says he can have Pepcid AC 5mg BID Or I can stop the Clavamox ohmygod_smile He has gingivitis why would I stop it? DUH! Oh well overall I think he has come through Dental just fine. :-D

I"m reposting this QUESTION from last night for suggestions.

ohmygod_smile What in the world  I wonder do you think he may have gone below 50 today after the numbers of last night? OR could he do this if he needed more food to eat during the day? :YMSIGH:
I know he had that turkey but it has never raised his BG before. I checked the broth ingredients there was no sugar. However next time he will just have to wait when it's in that 2 hour window.
Powder has been on this dose for 11+ days. I'm thinking that he has shown good numbers sometimes only I haven't been able to check during the day. I am home Sat. & Sun.to do a curve if you think I should increase If you think I should start tomorrow night I can be comfortable with that. Thoughts?

I'm so glad it's Friday accept for getting ready for winter I am all Powder's this weekend. I hope his body remembers what it was doing before the dental confused_cat Happy green and blue day in LL today everyone.

Re: 10/22PowderAMPS330+2 260

Not sure if he is still bouncing or if it is just the inflammation from the dental...or...well... so many things, right?
Let's see what other say about the increase.
I am not familiar with the probiotic that you mentioned. But, I do know that the Fortiflora sprinkled on top of the food is tempting to most kitties. It is used sometimes when they aren't even on ABs to tempt them to eat. I am wondering if you would want to try that for him. But, it is not in all pet stores...so i order it online. It is give a few hours after the ABs were administered.

I would be great at any rate for you to do those curves over the weekend to see where he is going.
Happy Friday!

Maybe its going to take a little while for things to settle back down in his system after the dental ? anyway hope you get back to better numbers soon for him :-D

Re: 10/22PowderAMPS330+2 260

I think there was a bounce after the greens. it can take up to 72 hours for a bounce to clear. In addition, if there's still an inflammation present, that could be elevating numbers. I wouldn't stop the Clavamox unless your vet advises you to. Also, are you sure that your vet wants you to give that much Pepsid? Usually, the dose is 1/4 of a 10 mg tablet. The dose can go up to 1/2 of a tablet but it's ordinarily a 2.5mg dose. Remember to not give the AB and the probiotic about 1 - 2 hours apart.

You noted some lab values on your SS. Since lab values vary based on where they were done, were these numbers out of range? Could you note if they were high or low? (If you look at the tabs on Gabby's SS, I have one for her BG numbers and one for her labs along with the reference ranges.)

Can you post at around +11 today? I'd like to see if the bounce clears and where Powder's numbers are.

Sorry Sienne unable to get back until +11.75 So the first reading is his PMPS. I gave the skinny 0.5 again. No I wasn't going to stop the Clavamox the vet said I could but my point is why would I do that if he has gingivitis. It doesn't make sense. Yes he said 5mg I haven't had to give any though he seems to be doing better. As far as Pribiotics I've been giving in his food and also in his water so I figure he's covered. Powder can be very finicky for instance yesterday I tried giving him wild salmon oil and he wouldn't eat it in his food. So plan is for a curve tomorrow and see how it goes.
