So far, he seems his usual self this morning. We started giving him 1 tablet of methyl b12 a few days ago in his pm meal since he doesn't seem to walk as "tall" in his hind end as my other kitties - not bad, but I was thinking the methyl b12 might help a bit. From my research here it seems that all the brands people use the most have some sort of sugar in the ingredient's list. I was careful to buy one that had no artificial sweeteners in it. The one we have only lists "fructose" as the main binder. Such a small amount of sugar shouldn't effect his glucose levels that much, but I was curious about other's experiences with it, and if it effected your kitty's sugar levels at all.

Re: 10/22 Oscar amps 250 +4 239 Methyl b12 question

Shadow REALLY walks with her back feet turned out, so I felt the small amount of fructose would be worth it for whatever benefit Shadow would get from it. Where I messed up was the Xylitol. The first bottle I used was too small a dose and it had Xylitol in it. bad bad momabean. I really like the one she's taking right now, although the label does list lactose and cellulose.

eta: this one is by Natural Factors high potency 5000mcg. chewable cherry tablet but dissolves faster than anything I've ever used. I actually found it in the "new age" section of this posh grocery store I hardly ever go into, having looked just about everywhere else. I looked for capsules but didn't have any luck. I'm doing a 2 week trial with BID doses then I'll go back to QD. I'm not noticing much change in her gait but I think she is less on her wrists and she jumped into a rocking chair earlier this week for nap, so I'm thinking there's some slow progress being made.

Thats kinda what I noticed with Oscar. Sometimes he stands and his back "ankles" are almost touching - looks a little funny!

Here are the ingredients on what I am giving now:

methylcobalamin (1,000mcg), fructose, mannitol, cellulose, magnesium stearate, and natural flavor (it is cherry flavor)

We use the Methylcobalamine from Thorne Research. I get it from my chiropractor or from vitalbee.com. I mix a half capsule in Blackie's food every morning and it really helped him when he had neuropathy and again when he was diagnosed with CRF. Its about $12 for a bottle of 60. Here's the info:

One Capsule Contains:
Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin) 1,000 mcg.

Other Ingredients: Microcrystalline Cellulose, Hypromellose (derived from cellulose) capsule. May contain one or more of the following hypoallergenic ingredients to fill space – Leucine, Silicon Dioxide.

Note: Methylcobalamin (Coenzyme B12) is a metabolically active form of B12

Re: 10/22 Oscar amps 250 +4 239 Methyl b12 question

We are using Xobaline from Life Link Here
3mg tabs. Sooty loves them - he eats his 1 a day tablet right off our kitchen counter!
Not worried by such a small amount of fructose - doesn't seem to have affected his BG at all.
