Chester has a new nickname!

I'm still embarrassed to admit that I didn't even notice that he had a pink nose until it was pointed out to me yesterday on this forum.

Chester's happy and I'm happy too because DH left me sleep this morning (after getting up for feeding, of course) until I woke up on my own...bliss!

Today I'm shopping for all new appliances (except fridge...already new)...bliss? ;-)

Question: Any thoughts on how Chester is doing at this dose? He seems to start high, but he's nowhere near what I think is acceptable to call this a failed dose because his nadirs are not high and flat...just not as low as I'm now itching to get them. But he REALLY dropped on me the other night (40 on a human meter/64 on the Alphatrak) so I'm scared to raise it again. Rock and a hard place.

Re: QUESTION: 11/14 Chester's amps 297, +3.5=167

hi again!

oh boy - new appliances!

just took a peek at SS, if you are around for a nadir check - let's have it - other than that, as long as Chester's keeps his pink nose out of the dry kibble (is that where he gets the pink nose?) ohmygod_smile
I like the dose, where it's at, sometimes pre-shots take a while to come down, but let's see what others can add thru the day ok?
Just stay out of the kibble Chester!

*GROANNNNNN*

Possible Kibble Raid at +11.5 I'm not sure, though...he was in the vicinity and there was a lot going on and the bowl remained open after the last cat...and I'm a BAD MOMMIE!

Boy, that's for sure! Grrrr... Frustrating!

We keep one bowl on the counter, covered with a HEAVY ceramic lid. Most of the other cats eat this kibble, some who wouldn't touch wet food. The trouble, of course, is remembering to put the lid back on when they finish. I worry that my Otto, who is already too skinny in my estimation and won't eat wet food (although he has CRF, so he SHOULD eat wet food) will decline even further if I totally restrict him to the wet. (The dry is KD...for kidney disease...I have two CRF cats).

And Chester is a master at sneaking in when the back is turned and eating it VERY quickly...he knows it's off limits, it seems.

And if it were just one other cat who ate the kibble, I would just leave the lid off for the short time it takes them to eat and either stand there or lock Chester in another room at that time, but with so many still eating it, none of whom want to eat at the same time from the same bowl, it gets to be a frustrating problem.

Wish I could find a low carb wet food that was also good for CRF that my Otto would eat. I've tried just about every food that I can think of.

I guess I'm going to have to be uber strict about just when the bowl is open. We've been uncovering it whenever one comes up and howls at us (it's kept on the counter) with every good intention of standing there until they are done, but that NEVER works, it seems...and that's when Chester swoops in.
