11/16 Kim's Shadow amps~105, pmps~89

Shadow has eaten breffis and had her MB12, excellent appetite. 3/5P's this morning, no preening, no playing.

The Vitacoat Plus came in yesterday for the Dandruff Queen, all the monsters plus the yapper got a dose last night and one today already. I got the bacon-flavored one because my little freakazoids don't like seafood. The dose on the bottle says one tsp per 20 lbs (it's for cats and dogs, the fish one was cats only), I extrapolated down to get their dose. They don't act like they even taste it and FF is so aromatic, they may not smell it either. Reading the Dr. Foster etc catalog online, they recommended a cat comb for $40. Wha?? went looking on Amazon to see if they sold it any cheaper and there I found people praising something called Zoom Groom instead. I scored one of those last night after work when I made my kitty food run to Petco, I can see why folks like it. Shadow doesn't like brushing but boo-hoo, get over it, I don't like dandruff. She still complains with the zoom groom but not nearly as much and I could not believe the cat hair it combed out. It was a great $7 investment. So I guess technically, I'm doing her preening. One P for me. She may still have a steroid shampoo in her future but I hate to think what the stress of a bath might do to her BG. I will post an update later on how the new vitamins are working for her, dandruff looks so terrible on black kitties.

another killer day at tbp - we are into our busy time of year so I won't be around much til tonight.

Great numbers today!!! The vitacoat will work, just give it a couple of weeks..My guys have been using it for yrs now & are real silky & soft--

nice start! YAY - and go shadow!

Mannie hates grooming too - he used to love to be brushed - not any more. bummer for me. I ill have to look for that comb - anything to make that was less war-like.

Hope the vita-stuff works as well as the brushing. Kitty bathing.....Doesn't sound very fun.

So glad you found something...you are so smart Kim! ;-) I hope it works for you....something good that isn't fishy!
I was just remembering my Shadow's dull and dandruffy coat before dx. I usually comment on how his fur looks because I just am so amazed at how great he is looking nowadays. I agree that back kitties fur looks really pretty horrid when it has dandruff. I just wrote in my condo today that he seems to glisten! :lol:

can't take any credit for the new vitamins - Roni and Moonie recommended it when I posted last week about Shadow's dandruff returning. She had been without it since she switched to wet food but when we put on the central heat (at least, that's what I think did it) it started again with a vengeance. I am hopeful this new stuff will make my Shadow glisten.

Thanks, Kim, for the note on Gracie's condo. I needed that hug!! I didn't get to do condos today...bummer...work got in the way. Hate it when that happens. Glad to see such nice numbers for Shadow, as usual!! Have a super evening and thanks for the moral support!

Here's what it looks like, soft flexible rubber. looks like nothing and works so well.

little snafu with kitty meals around here today. Shadow wasn't interested in her snack, I left for work and workers here in the house took the bowls up. so no food for my starving big girl all afternoon. came home - BOOM - 134. one of the higher numbers she's had in a while. got home from work, fed her, numbers came back down into her normal range, 80. and now pmps - 89.

if I can impress upon my housesitter how important Shadow's meals are, she should do just fine when I'm out of town. I feel pretty positive about it really. (do I sound like I'm trying to convince myself? :lol: )

here's something that puzzles me - on the days when one kitty goes low, there is never just one kitty that goes low but a bunch of kitties. I don't get that, is it the phase the moon, change of seasons, what? mystifies me.

YAY on the zoom groom plus - thanks for the pics. That i will go for... Mannie: your bean has a solution to our miniwar. Might have to check into those vitamins too - he also has a renewed case if kitty dandruff. poor guy...

well shoot. my off-to-bed spot check came back at 61, so I'll need to get one more number to make sure she isn't dropping. she nadirs early, I've got a good hour to go. rats. fed her 1/4 can LC FF and I'll have to recheck at the top of the hour.

now I'm wondering if that 134 could have been a bounce from a lower number. Shadow doesn't do big bounces, hooray for us, so I'm just wondering. hmmm.....

Shadow's SS is gorgeous! You two are doing so well! Tess adores the zoom groom, it really does pull the undercoat out. Just beware of fur everywhere.

Great numbers today. You can show your sitter what happens to Shadows numbers if she doesn't get her meals....That was an impressive jump up to 134 w/o the fud.
