Kathy and Kitty

Greetings, everyone. Wanted to share that Kitty is celebrating seven months OTJ!
This is the kitty who spent four months so mis-dosed (up to 10 units ONCE a day) before finding FDMB that we nearly lost him. But thanks to Lantus Land’s incredible community of wise heads and kind hearts, he went into remission after 15 months on insulin. Thank you, Lantus Land!
That’s not to say that he has no issues. He went to see the vet again this past week to re-do his bloodwork. He has been throwing up every four or so days; and eating, drinking and peeing more, but losing weight.
The prime suspect was hyper-thyroid, and that has been…NIXED! His free T4, T4 and T3 look great. His BG at the vet was 118, with the feline-calibrated meter.
The question is, if not hyper-thyroid, then what? The vet says other contenders include everything from allergies to IBD to chronic pancreatitis to lymphoma. He will try to do a specific pancreatic lipase test, if there’s enough blood to run it. He suggested we could treat with a dewormer, just to rule out parasites (even though Kitty never goes outdoors).
Kitty has had teeth issues, and he needs another cleaning. The good news is that there is a now a board-certified dental vet who visits our town regularly, and I can try to schedule with him.
I would appreciate it if anyone who understands bloodwork would take a look at his labs, which are linked below. I highlighted the items that were out of range or nearly so. These included lipase, cholesterol, total protein, auto platelet and, as before, eosiniphil. I’m talking to the vet again on Monday, so ideas are welcome!
Thanks again, everyone. Kitty sends purrs to everyone.
