yesterday

Per the nurse, he ate well, but a bit too fast & vomited once.
His BG did get low - 39 and they added dextrose to his IV.
He "looks good", so he is hanging in well.

I'll check again in about 8 hours or so. If all goes well, I should be able to bring him home tonight.

That's a grea report for what Spitzer just went through.....How fortunate that you listened to your gut yesterday.

Healing vines for your sweet kitty and calming vines for you.

I'm so glad to hear that Spitzer is doing well! I hope he continues that way, and you're able to bring him home later.

I hope you're feeling better today too. I know someone that gets ocular migraines....very scary if you don't know what they are!

wonderful update, hope you have Spitzer in your arms and home tonight. I went through this once with Tray so I know how scary this had been for you.

Called MedVet to see how he was doing.

He's doing well - he's eating and his bg is more stable.

The night vet who admitted him comes on at 7:30 pm and I'll check with him then about bringing my boy home.

I've been following along and I'm amazed how calmly you handled this and how instinctively you asked about the dosing.

An overdose had never ever crossed my mind, wow.

Sending hugs for you and Spitzer. He'll be happy to be home tonight.

I've just read this and I'm SO glad Spitzer is doing so well and will probably be home for Thanksgiving. It's one more thing to be thankful for!

I am so glad to hear that your baby is doing better, and that you may be able to bring him home tonight. I'm sure you can't wait, but until he does come home, he is in the best of care. I agree with Debby, it's another thing to be thankful for, that you were able to catch the error and reacted quickly. (((Hugs))).

Picked him up and got home around 9:30 pm.

The "go home" instructions say to monitor for signs of hypoglycemia and resume insulin tomorrow morning.

His last glucose was over 400.

Yay! for being home. I'm sure you're relieved to have your baby back.
