I did shoot it. I am home all day. I have a hypo kit ready (corn syrup, fancy feast chicken and gravy, lots of strips). I will get a +1 and a +2 and test hourly or more if needed.

I've read about handling lows and followed along on threads where people were instructed on how to handle lows.

I'll still be posting what we find and do just so eyes are on us.

Sounds like you've done your homework Kerrie. Good job. Isn't it a good feeling to be in control. :smile: Glad you'll be home to watch Maverick.

I sprinkled chicken dust on his LC food to tempt him to eat.

Maverick has been assist fed with a syringe in the past so we have that tool in our tool box also in the event of a low.

nice shooting. :smile: I'm glad you're staying on top of things. With no +1 spike, this could be an interesting cycle.

You have plenty of support here Karrie. I should know from Milo hitting 34 about a week ago. Being prepared sure helps. Only problem I had was I had to run out to Walmart as soon as Milo was stable to get more test strips. I think I went through half a box. Maverick, honey, you need to just surf this ride out and don't get too low for your bean!!

Kelly, I wouldn't be calm if Maverick hit 34, ohmygod_smile Must give you even more confidence when you actually have to deal with a low and get through it. And the feeling of relief when its over - I can just imagine it lol.

More chicken dust on LC food after his +2.

I couldn't imagine dealing with a possible low with his vet Mrs. Snarky. I am soooo glad I found you guys.

I haven't ventured into any other condos this morning. off to check out your Rockets condo now @-)

I'll be watching both condos today, as I'm trying to gain the courage to shoot low numbers. I've wimped out a few times now! :oops:

My heart dog has to go to the vets today. Something seems off. Why did Maverick decide to go low today!???

Waiting for advice from the congestive heart failure forum and calling my vet for an appointment later. Its freezing rain warning here today and her vet is over an hour of highway driving away.

Sorry to hear about your puppy....sending lots of healing vines for him..What's his name?

It sounds like you might be away for more than a couple of hours when u travel to the vet today....You could, perhaps, give a little LC or even MC to increase the glucose to a level you are more comfortable with before you leave...Will he eat food that's left out for him?

Maverick is looking so good.

Thank you. Maverick is liking the colour green more and more I think.

My dogs name is Nike - she's almost 13 and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in March. I wish Maverick had an amazing vet like she has. Still working on that though. My dog's vet says to just keep an eye on her and if something changes to bring her in. She may just have an upset stomach (not related to the tick we found and removed wrongly a few days ago).

Maverick's acting like his usual morning self. Sleeping away. I want to wake him up - like he does to me every morning. Tell him that I want to talk and want company ;) He's too cute sleeping though. I do say his name though just to make sure he's concious lol. Testing him in ten minutes.

Nice shooting, Karrie! I have to go work on our (belated) Thanksgiving dinner, but wanted to stop in and tell you what a great job you're doing with Maverick! You go, girl! :-D Shout if you need help...I know you will.

Sorry about Nike, I hope she feels better soon and you won't have to drive in the freezing rain...I hate ice!

Nice Hootin' Karrie - I don't blame you one bit on avoiding Dr. Snarky. Maverick has a good surf going here. good luck on Nike's vet visit. will Maverick eat if you leave food down while you're gone?

SWEET on the numbers....man you handled shooting that 68 like an old pro!!!! Great job and he's just surfing it!! WOW.

Sure hope Nike is ok...pls keep us update..sending healing vines.

Rocket however decided he no longer wanted to hang out with Maverick! we'll see if he decides to join him later on....

You guys are the best *hugs to everyone* for being here and commenting.

My dog Nike has perked right up. I don't know what was with her this morning. I was worried. She rarely turns down pure bites chicken treats.

Maverick did amazing today. He only ate between AMPS and +3 about 2 oz of LC food. So I expected a bigger drop and to hold it longer. I admit I am glad we didn't have to deal with a low today. I fell asleep from 2 - 4PM.

Karrie...awesome just today and glad you didn't have to drive in the icy weather.

I'd love to show Mrs. Snarky how well he's doing, but I don't think she'd see it that way lol

I am taking my dog into the vet tomorrow so my husband will have Maverick watch tomorrow. We found another tick on her this evening. So I'm going to get a lime disease/tick disease blood work done on her.

You guys are the best!!!!!!
