Morning LL,

yesterday's thread

WCR Her #'s are a little higher than I would like lately. I don't know if it's from going to low [Wish I was around more to test] or because I'm not being as aggressive with the fat as I should. Plus there is always those pesky bubbles :-| that sometimes no matter what you do they show up. I'll have to see what tonights cycle brings. I don't think the insulin is that old. Have to look at her ss to check that out.

Have a nice day everyone.

Re: 12/2 Sara AMPS~192

Sara is just precious!!!!

Did the bubbles recently show up or has it always been a problem? Still learning. I've learned how to draw from the vial/cartridge without bubbles or flicking to get them out. But just curious if it shows up if its a sign of the insulin fizzling out?

Re: 12/2 Sara AMPS~192

Morning Jan hope Sara starts to give you better numbers soon I agree about the bubbles do you mean in the syringe? I have that problem so often as well

Re: 12/2 Sara AMPS~192

Good morning guys! Still a nice blue for sara ... I know peter often has to get the bubbles out of our syringes as well ... have a great day guys!

Karrie, To my knowledge it is not a sign that the insulin is fizzing out. Ella[Rusty and Stu] gave me a tip to depress the plunger all the way up before putting it in the vial. That way you get as much air out as possible before you stick the needle in to draw up the insulin. It works most of the time, but sometimes there is just bubbles no matter what I do. Hope your tricks have helped you out in that department. It can be very frustrating at times.

Lisa, Yes in the syringe. The tip I got works pretty well. Read above. Hope you and DL are doing well. Any luck on a home for your foster yet?

Good luck girls with those unwanted guests "the bubbles" and have a good night. :-D

Added to that tip about depressing all the air and holding the plunger in as you insert it into the pen, you could move the plunger back and forth a few times to spread around the little bit of lubricant inside the syringe before drawing the insulin in.
I hope the new juice works for Sara....this is a bit high for her....
Hope you have a good night Jan!

Jan...Sara is certainly looking good at +2!!!

I've had problems with bubbles, too. I use a pen. I'm finally learning to go really really super slow on the draw and only take a tiny bit of insulin into the pen until the pen pulls the bubble back up. Sometimes I get tiny ones...I mean tiny but no more big ones that I have to flick and flick and flick. I also do what Pat recommends.

good +2 for Sara!
i believe that was my problem tonight as well....those darn bubbles....will try Pat's trick next time....and yours as well....good luck tonight!

+3~87

Thanks Pat for that added tip I forgot to mention that. Yes the first thing I do is to push the plunger back and forth. At first I always did it because I just wanted to loosen up the plunger. That way it was easier to get the correct dose.

Marjorie, I use the pen also. I never noticed the pen taking back any bubbles but I'll have to check that out. They are annoying aren't they. Have a good night.

Claudia, I had good luck with those tips. I'm sure you will too.

I'm thinking that Sara may need a little more insulin but I think you need to get some mid-cycle checks to make sure all's good before raising the dose.

Oh those bubbles continue to be pesty!! Which syringes are you using? I recommend the Monoject because they have a nice, flat plunger.
Good luck with getting Sara's numbers down a bit, Jan.
See you tomorrow,

Ella & Rusty
