Simon is back to the blues today after having such a good run of greens. I guess I should not have choked and given him the .5 instead of the .75 last night. I will be able to get a few more tests in today since I will be in and out of the house every couple of hours. Simon is looking good this morning -- all P's in place.

Don't beat yourself up over yesterday. We all do that sometimes. Nice AMPS. Simon had a nice day yesterday. Have a good one today.

His SS is looking great!!! I remember the first time I saw a green I kind of panicked. The gang here is amazing and I have gained a lot of confidence.

Thanks for being such great cheerleaders ... I needed to hear a few words of encouragement. Simon has returned to the greens as of +5 so I hope he continues to have a great day.

I've been able to test Simon more frequently today because I am off and I want to get a better handle on what his bg does throughout the day. At +6 he was 64 and then jumped to 98 at +7. I fed him a little LC food (1 1/2 tsp) at +6 but he actually got a double helping because he was able to figure out how to open the door where my slow eater, Cleo, was eating her food and gobbled up hers. Oh well ... at least he has a healthy appetite.

Simon is down to 57 at +2. I gave him the regular dose of .75 and I'm afraid he is going to drop alot more since he usually drops around +5 or +6. Do I give anything besides his regular LC food right now? I'm going to re-test in another 30 minutes. When I last poked him he was howling alot so I got scared he was going into hypo since he never really cries when I poke his ear. False alarm though -- I had been sitting on his tail!

Any advice out there about what I should be giving him for food right now? I don't want to overload him with HC food like last time. he went up so high the next day.

I would try a couple tsp of LC and test in 30 minutes. Maybe that will throw him up onto his surfboard. If he does decide to keep dropping, the 30 minute test still gives you plenty of time to intervene with higher carb food if you need to.

Thanks for the advice, Libby. I gave him a tsp. of lc and re-tested in 30 minutes. He went up slightly so I will test again in 30 minutes and see where he is going.

I didn't give any more food since the +2 and he has gone up to 78. I'll test one more time in an hour and if there is no major drop, will call it a night. Simon has been such a good boy today with all the sticks I have given him. Tomorrow is a big day .. we are going to see a new vet in the morning. I hope Simon likes him! I have already e-mailed the new vet his spreadsheet so he will have it on hand.
