Good Saturday Morning, Everyone,

Rusty seems to have bounced a little. I tried for a "slightly skinnied fat 0.5 this morning, but I think it wound up as just a "normal" 0.5. We'll see what today brings. Rusty woke me up around 5 A.M. with head butts, but we both went back to sleep. He ate all of his nighttime food, has eaten 1st sitting of breakfast, and is now lounging around. I'm in the midst of watering the plants and will go downstairs soon to see if he is ready for a game. DH went btb! My nephew and his wife from the Boston area are visiting friends in our area this weekend and will drop in to see us later and maybe go for a x-country ski. This will be fun, since I haven't seen them in about 8 or 9 years.
This weekend is Winter Carnival in our village. All sorts of activities and contests going on, including the ladies' frying-pan toss (later this morning). The same woman wins every year! The ice palace is finished (made from huge blocks of ice hauled out of the lake) and the festivities will finish up next weekend with a parade and fireworks. The parade features a syncronized marching group called the "Lawn-Chair Ladies", who use folding aluminum lawn chairs as props. The theme this year of the carnival is "Medieval Times" and there are lots of people already walking around in "medieval" costumes.

Back later, Everyone have a good "Caturday". We continue to send healing vines to Rocket, Whiskers, and all other kitties who could use some.

Wow, winter in your village sounds like fun! I'd throw a frying pan, even if I didn't win. :mrgreen:

Sounds like Rusty is having himself a fine morning! The head butts are great- cats are so subtle about getting our attention, aren't they? How kind of him to let you go back to sleep!

Rusty, what are we going to get into while the beans are out having fun today? I could use another trip to someplace warm, I think. Someplace with fishing and sunshine, what do you think?

The carnival sounds like alot of fun! I really like your village - it sounds like there's always something great going on - and the people enjoy it all. so nice! Have fun! and enjoy the time with family - that too will be nice. YAY: more skiing!

Hi Ella. LIke Ann, I'd love a bounce like that. Rusty is doing beautifully. Well, you're doing beautifully with him. :smile:
You just reminded me, that today is the book sale at the local library. Also our winter festivities, although I don't walk around town in 20 degree weather. The merchants sell food along the street, like chili, pizza, etc.
Ain't getting out of the warm car for nuttin'.

Ok, since I am currently sick of winter, your Winter Carnival actually made winter sound like a good thing. It almost made me wish for some more snow and cold weather, but then the feeling quickly passed. :lol:

I love when they give head butts. Rusty is still doing so well even if the AMPS is a bit higher than usual! You do make winter sound fun, and it makes me almost miss the snow. Have a nice time today at the Winter Carnival and visiting family.

Wow - your Saturday sounds way more fun that what I am doing today. The frying pan toss and the synchronized metal chair group sounds especially interesting. I think you need to post pictures! Rusty looks great and I, too, would be thrilled with a bounce like that. The Winter Carnival sounds like a blast!!!! I would love to see your village!!!

Nice day for Rusty. Winter Carnival sounds great. I don't think I could take the cold anymore - I have water in my veins now. We finally had a warm day (82) although it was very cloudy. Enjoy the balance of your Winter Carnival weekend.

We are capping off the day with a surprise, fast-moving snowstorm of heavy wet snow. 8 inches so far. Not good for trees and wires, but at least so far it's all snow. It got pretty warm today: in the low 30s (felt like spring!). The first weekend of carnival is over. Fireworks this evening. But the carnival itself goes on all next week, ending with a gala parade (the Lawn Chair Ladies and lots of floats, all in this year's "medieval" theme) and another set of fireworks. I'll try to take some pics next Sat.
My nephew, niece-in-law, and their friends are having lunch with us tomorrow and then we'll all go snowshoeing.

Ni ni everyone. I hope that you all will have a good night, and we wish a comfortable night for Rocket and Whiskers and any other kitties who would benefit from a good night's sleep (beans, too!!)
