Very quiet morning and night. No purring or face poky wake-up calls today. Attie's hated kind of weather blew in last night with rain, lightening, and thunderstorms. I woke this morning wondering where he was...only to find him under my bed instead of on the bed. Breffis #1 served and hiding has returned.

Going to have to break out all my gear today. Rain suit, long johns, waterproof boots, turtle-necks, sweater...cold, miserable day to be out in the weather. Rain this morning changing to snow this afternoon. I think I'll toss an extra set of dry clothes in the truck today too...

Gary Socialization:

Gary was quite funny yesterday. He has learned what "treats" are. Yesterday he got down off the cat tree to come get them from me sitting in a chair across the room. He braved fetching several treats from my hand and then returned to the tree to "hiss." :lol: He is funny, because if you don't let the 'hiss' scare you off and start petting him...he becomes a purrbox, headbutting, and will even cat-curl for you.

He is schedule to see a Dr. from the Westlake Animal Hospital on March 14th. There is a long story as to why we're not returning to the little local vet, but let's say it is in the interest of Gary's well being to visit someone else. The reason for choosing Westlake is their facebook page often reminds people to take care of the ferals and they handle all the Westlake Shelter animals too.

It is where they do this, with the head tucked almost upside down, belly up though(trust), and gazing into your eyes.

Morning Beth - or is it afternoon by now.... :? I hope you guys are having a good day, despite the weather. it sounds awful there today. Poor Attie! At least he has someplace to hide.

I too agree - Gary is so lucky to have you. I hope all goes well with his upcoming appt, and that this vet is better for him. I loved the treat story. sometimes not such a tough guy - very cute, and nice.

What a crazy, crazy day!!!!

All this rain and snow melt has created some very dangerous situtations. One dam has broken, my normal shortcut routes through the valley were/are all closed. News says flooding is just as bad as 2006.

Looks like Attie did ok today.

I can tell it has been a hard winter ...the raccoons are rummaging about in the backyard and it isn't dark yet. They are very hungry.

I just love hearing about your furry family which includes Gary 1 (and Gary 2). Is Gary2 still visiting?

Gary doing the curl is heartwarming. You are his angel. Is he healing well? Having a hard time keeping up with condo's for the past few days.

Poor Attie. Under the bed is a safe place though.

Flat yellows for Attie today... maybe some blue tonight? As always, love the stories of the kids. So nice that Gary is trusting you more! Glad you're taking him to a vet who will be more understanding and compassionate. Good luck with his visit on the 14th!
