Morning LL,

3/23 condo

WCR Sara is her very affectionate self. Always a good patient. cat_pet_icon I was a little surprised at this ps because she earned a dosecrease last night with a 35. I thought she'd be a bit high this morning. I know the meter was right because she was eating like she does when she goes low. The food wasn't bringing her up much so I gave her a little bit of syrup.

Does anybody have trouble with the plunger on the syringe doesn't twist? Is there a way to remedy that? I'm coming across this more with the syringes that I just bought. [monoject] I had used them before and liked them, but with these small doses I'm not liking them. I think I'll go back to Relion.

Off to tbp. :-|
Have a good day.

Re: 3/25 Sara AMPS~106 syringe question

Good morning! Lovely start for Sara this morning!

I have gotten that from time to time with both the relions and the monojects, though I find from batch to batch. I ended up going back to the Relions because I found they are easier to deal with in terms of bubbles. Good luck!

Have a great day!

Re: 3/25 Sara AMPS~106 syringe question

Good morning Jan.
This is a great number for a bounce.

I used to buy the BD brand but always had trouble with them not twisting and more bubble problems. I started using the GNP brand that I buy from from Hocks.com and they are much better.

Re: 3/25 Sara AMPS~106 syringe question

Never had a problem with the monojects not twisting. Sorry. Congrats on the dosecrease and the nice AMPS this morning.

BDs were the absolute worst for 0 mark accuracy. You wouldn't believe how many bad syringes I had in a batch of 100. I'm talking a big discrepancy - .25 to .50 units even in some really bad syringes.

Good morning guys and congrats on the dose decrease! What a nice low blue to start the day out at ... you'll see green in no time .. sorry, can't help on the syringes .. we always used relion with mocha ... have a great weekend guys!

Re: 3/25 Sara AMPS~106 syringe question

Hi Jan, Sometimes this happens to me with the Monojects, but not often. I always work the plunger in and out about 5 or 6 times before holding it in all the way and drawing out the insulin. Maybe it's the cold weather? Are your syringes stored in a very cool spot?

Nice AMPS for Sara. Have a good weekend. TGIF!!!

I do this too, to help make sure I can push it in slowly without snagging in the barrel.

Thanks everyone for your input on syringes. They can be so frustrating sometimes. Especially with such a small amount of insulin.

Kerrie, Wow that is a huge difference!

Celi, I got that tip from Ella too. Works great!

Ella, No I don't think they are in a cool spot. It's probley 67. It's a thought though.

BMJ, I know its impossible to measure with a syringe without moving the plunger a few times.

Devon, I am going back to my relion syringes after these. I like them. Hey, you must be out of practice by now. Hope you Peter and Mocha are doing good.

Mirium, My friend Dawn uses GNP I think, and she likes them too.

Christie, I'll be going back to my old friend Relion. Its a pretty good syringe, especially for the price.

Have a nice night everyone.

:YMPEACE:

Hi Jan - nice numbers for Sara - wow on the 35 last night.

I can't offer any more suggestions on the syringes - I have the monojets, and have no problems with them being able to twist - they do every time. weird huh.
