Yesterday's Condo

Much better. Initial tests at 5:15 were 53 and 66. prepped juice at full 1.0, tested again and he was 104. Hoping he is ok since I took off the skinny (or possibly dropped him a full .25) without him earning it. we'll see how he does today.

Willie says it is btb cuddle time!

Whew, what a day! Lots of awake time today... he's been wanting to be close to me all the time. We had some play time with the toys this afternoon, and then he felt compelled to lay down amongst them for 15 minutes. Too cute... Willie completely surrounded by 20 or so toys with a big happy grin on his face.

Later, he joined me on the couch... computer time for the bean, nap time for the Willie. I got up off the couch to do some things, and went in and laid on the bed for a bit playing solitaire. Willie came in and had something important to tell me... seemed he was peeved I'd left him alone on the couch! I got quite the chatty cathy talking to! After some cuddle time in the sun on the bed, he headed to the floor and is currently completely zonked out in front of the air purifier (there's a nice breeze by there). Turned on the ceiling fan to give him a little more air. These low numbers have him tuckered out!!

I have to say, I think there is no sweeter sound in the world than the contented murmurs of furbaby in the deepest of sleep. Makes me want to join him!! Alas, I am going to get off my rear, go for a walk and maybe serve some tennis balls. Need to try out my fancy new ball hopper that picks up the balls for you, and turns into a basket stand that will keep the balls at waist height. Was going to join in on a pickup softball game this evening, but realized my bat, batting gloves, ball glove, etc. are all in storage and I don't feel like driving out to the suburbs to get them. The storage place is very close to work, so I'll get everything tomorrow over lunch. Will probably stop by the pickup game to visit with some friends at least. Hopefully it hasn't started storming by then!!

Thanks, Nicole. I've got two meters, but may take you up on the strips. Going to hold off as I just got another order from ebay, and I'm considering transitioning over to the freestyle lite.

Well, Willie is certainly consistent tonight. Double checked on the backup meter, and the numbers are correct!

ETA: Bollocks. Laundry room in my building has an outdoor entrance. Need to go put last load in the dryer, but the deluge is upon us. Should have gone 5 minutes ago... *sigh*

You may want to keep an eye on the Wellness post over in Health. Turns out, Wellness wet cat food is manufactured by three different companies in three different locations, depending on the size of the can. The large cans (which we were using) are manufactured by Menu. Another size is manufactured in NJ by American Nutrition, and a third size manufactured by an unknown company in Canada. Lots manufactured by Menu will have the characters "7WCC" on the can stamp.

ETA: I just found the following on another board via a google search:
MW.... California plant (presumably American Nutrition)
7WCC.... New Jersey (Menu Foods)
7Wkcc1.... Canada (???)

I've found references to both 3 oz. and 12.5 oz. cans being manufactured at the NJ Menu Foods plant. Note that Wellpet provides the ingredients... whereas in the recent Menu recall, the problem was with ingredients provided by Menu.

This may very explain why people are observing different things, and the observations tend to be similar by can size. What is concerning me is that while the CORE recipes contain white potatoes, the basic grain free chicken does not. While it is possible that the white chunks I saw were peeled zucchini (which is listed in the ingredients), they did look and mash like potatoes. The observable vegetable chunks (I noted sizable carrot chunks as well) may not be the result of a formula change; it may just be that this particular lot of large cans didn't get the vegetables cut as fine as usual.

I'd encourage everyone who uses Wellness to post their observations, including can size and can stamp info over on the thread in Health. The more information we can collect, the more informed we can be. With Wellness being a go-to food for so many of us, if the problems observed by some can be avoided simply by changing to a different can size, that is very helpful information for board members to have.

PS-- I was a total bum today. Temps here got into the 90s, and softball was right around the time of Willie's shot. I had hoped to get to the tennis court after the sun went down, but then the winds really picked up in front of the storm... really wasn't feasible!

i'd be happy to loan you a cool looking miner's lamp to make your hair lay flat while you sleep, then be ready to flip on and test willie in the morning. woo-hoo! the only condition is you have to take pics of it, or better yet, a video, so i can see it in action! :lol: :lol:
