Good Caturday Morning, Everyone,

Rusty got a "hurt" shot this morning. I felt so bad. But he's OK and has forgiven me. The insulin went in, in any event. We had a good, if short, night (late to bed because of the cellar; no improvement there; totally discouraged). Rusty enjoyed breakfast (2 sittings) and a brushing/combing. We have a little bit of sun and we'll go outside in a little while, after it warms up a bit. I spent over 2 hours bailing in the cellar and am exhausted. I sure wish we didn't have to go to NYC tomorrow, but I don't want to have to reschedule my doctors' appointments again. And it would be nice to go to the last opera on our series (Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos"). And Edward has a dissertation defense to attend. We'll make the decision whether or not to go this evening. I have to check on the road closures in any event.

Back later. Everyone have a good day and we are continuing to send healing vines to all sick kitties and beans.

Ella & Rusty

Paws crossed for dry weather and open roads. I hope you can get away to New York and leave the bailing to the sump pump for a while.

Re: 5/7 Rusty AMPS 115

I am with Ann - I too hope you will be able to make the trip. You have such great things to attend. I pray for sunny dry weather.

bummer on the hurt shot - I hate it when that happens, but I, like you, am forgiven soon enough. What a nice start for Rusty this morning.

Rusty! What's up for today? You wanna get together? it's Willie's 5 month on the juice annifursary today. Maybe we can celebrate that a little. ~~ Mannie

Re: 5/7 Rusty AMPS 115

Gosh Ella I'm so sorry you are still dealing w/the cellar issue. Really hoping for some sunny weather to help dry things up there for you.

And ouchie on the shot this morning.....Rusty is such a good forgiving kitty. Must take after his bean.

Paws crossed that you guys can go on your trip tomorrow.

Re: 5/7 Rusty AMPS 115

Fingers and paws crossed that you're able to make the trip, Ella. You deserve a day or two away!! I'm sure the kitties will keep up the bucket brigade in your absence.

Glad that Rusty has forgiven you. Willie had an minor ouchie shot today too, but he was being squirmy b/c he wanted to go outside, so i figure it's his own fault!

Hope your Saturday isn't all buckets!

Re: 5/7 Rusty AMPS 115

Rusty won't hold that against you.. They are a forgiving creature you know..
I'm so sorry the cellar is not cooperating. No doubt you must be exhausted. I also will be sending prayers that you get to go.
Sounds to me like you really really need and deserve a break. Sunny weather and a nice drive ahead

Nice morning number for your bean Rusty!
Have a beautiful day Ella & (Rusty)

I'm sure he has long since forgiven you, Ella. So very sorry to hear about the cellar woes continuing. I hope you get to go to NYC and get things done and enjoy your opera. I know you will be worried about the basement getting under water again. Here's sending big hopes it will clear out and stay dry so you can safely be away. Enjoy your bit of sun today!

Re: 5/7 Rusty AMPS 115

Oh Ella!! I feel so bad...I was just commenting to Marje about how much I want it to rain here and you have a flippin river in your basement. You have to be sooo over it by now. Sending you prayers that you get to go to NYC tomorrow. I would love to go to an opera. Maybe I can convince my daughter to attend one with me!! :-D

So sorry about your cellar. I hope no more rain, and you are able to make the trip to NYC. I'm sure Rusty has forgiven and all is forgotten. I feel like I'm always hurting Maggie with the ear pokes, as she flinches but still allows me to poke her.

i am so sorry about the ongoing flooding. What a disaster. I was reading some of the news articles from your area online today. I had no idea how widespread and devastating the damage was. I can only pray that you get a break from Mother Nature, and get to resume your normal life soon. I don't think I could cope as well as you have been doing with this. (((Ella))).

Hi again,
We've decided to go to NYC tomorrow but to come back 2 days early, on Wednesday. The cellar is still a mess and I'm sure there will be lots more water in it before the water table goes down. But we really have to go to the city.

Rusty had another "meeting" with Shadow this afternoon. Shadow walked on the split-rail fence. Rusty went over to the fence. Shadow and Rusty looked at each other, about 5 feet apart. Rusty made his very subtle "throat noises". Shadow was silent. Shadow went over to the side of our house. Rusty watched him and then trotted over to where Shadow was, and Shadow went home. We are proud of the calm yet assertive way Rusty behaved. He is really a superior kitty in every way. Shadow is a very young cat, maybe a year old.

Other than work in the cellar and go to the post office and get stuff ready for tomorrow, I didn't do anything except watch the Kentucky Derby.

Happy Mothers' Day tomorrow if I don't have a chance to open Rusty's condo until we get to NY. I'll try to keep in some sort of touch, but it is hard typing on my Ipad.

Ella

Hey Kitties! The party in Central Park will take place on Monday. We're going to compare hot dogs from the various vendors. We'll take pictures of the tourists. Hope to see all you kitties there. Everyone welcome!
