Sorry I haven't been around today. I had the day off from work but several appointments to attend to. Abby continues to mystify me. Her SS is more confusing each day and I wish I knew from cycle to cycle what she was going to do. I shot the 122 tonight simply because I shot a 112 the other day. I was going to work out tonight but again, that seems like it's going to have to wait until I figure out just what she's going to do from here.

If anyone has any thoughts about her SS I'd be interested!!!

Re: 5/16 PMPS 122 - SS thoughts?

Kristin --

Are you uncomfortable with low numbers? I'm asking because the other evening you were giving HC early in the cycle when a bit of LC may have been indicated and might have allowed Abby to earn a decrease.

Re: 5/16 Abby PMPS 122 - SS thoughts?

Sienne - which night are you referring to exactly? The night of the 12th when she dropped to 55 at +2 I was advised to give HC since it was so early. The night of the 14th I did it to slow her rapid drop. In fact, it was suggested that you sometimes did similarly because Gabby sometimes has a tendency to drop fast. But yes, in general I'm uncomfortable with low #s...though I'm getting better. I'd be better if she got there gradually and around her nadir instead of getting down there by +2 or so.

Just offering you caring support. I'm glad Sienne checked in with you. Have a good evening.

Re: 5/16 Abby PMPS 122 - SS thoughts?

I do intervene with HC for a couple of reasons. Yes, Gabby is a drama queen. If you look at her SS, she doesn't so much drop as plummet. In addition, she hasn't held reductions all that well. Because of this, I try to make her really, really, really earn a decrease. Low numbers don't bother me in the least. I think we'd all like it if our kitties would slowly descend but we don't have any control over what they do. We're just along for the ride.

What I probably would have suggested the other evening was to try LC first and retest in 30 min. You need to have a feel for how Abby responds in these situations. You'll get comfortable -- it just takes some practice. People are here to help you.

Re: 5/16 Abby PMPS 122, +2/86

Thanks Sienne. It's good to hear the various pieces of advice because you're right, we all need to learn what works best with our kitties. I'm a very analytical person and logic and reason appeal to me. I struggle when I can't see logic or reason to what Abby's numbers are doing! I'm still trying to be okay with simply 'doing the best I can!'

Re: 5/16 Abby PMPS 122, +2/86, +3/67

Thanks for the support Carolyn and Tena! Tonight I'm not doing any managing; she's doing this all herself. She's grazing her leftover LC from dinner as she sees fit and is sleeping in the 30 minutes in between pokes. I'll stay up with her until I start to see a reasonable rise since earlier today she dropped through to +6.

These numbers look perfect! It also tells you that Abby will feed herself, which is great. I like that the LC is flattening things out.

Abby looks like the prototype kitty for those who run in lower numbers at night and experience dawn phenomenon in the AM.

Hi guys! What a lovely cycle tonight for Abby - a beauty, and all on her own. GO ABBY! It is nice to see that the LC will work for her with these lower numbers, and that she will feed herself when she needs to. Good luck tonight - she sure is looking good.
