Re: 5/24 Tommy +2R 308,+3.25R 213,+6 211

looks like maybe the bounce is clearing.

I've been staring at Tommy's ss a lot today, and it looks like he might be setting himself up to prove me wrong, but I'll post my thoughts anyway. Let's see where he goes the rest of the cycle before making any decisions.

It is looking to me like the reduction failed. We knew that could happen when we took an 0.5u reduction, but I always feel like taking a larger reduction is the safest option on a new acro without any history of reductions to compare to. I would like to suggest a couple of options:

  • Since we did an 0.5 reduction, go up by 0.25 (to 10.75) and see if that works better.
  • Or go back to the last good dose (11.0) to try to create a breakthrough, and monitor because he dropped to 40s on that dose last time. See if that gets the momentum back, and next time reduce by just 0.25.
Both options are valid and I have used both with Jazzy. Usually option #2 works better for her, but it could result in some low numbers. Usually I make the decision depending on whether I think I will be able to monitor adequately the next few days. What are your thoughts?

If he does start to bounce again before PMPS, I would give him more R too. It does seem to help.

Re: 5/24 Tommy +3.25R 213,+6 211,+9 219

Libby, thanks. I agree with option #2 also, but i have a few more questions? It looks to me on his SS that since the 18th R hasn't really done much other than today.. What do you think about that? I mean .1 or .25 hasn't yielded much.
Also, when the time comes, and i'm sure it will, how do you really know your dosing say 10.75? There is no exact science in that is there. Some times i'm not sure if I've given Tommy exactly .25R.. Is there a way to really tell?. I've practiced and practiced the drops with water and i'm pretty sure i'm getting it right.
My thought for tonight is to give 11u again if the numbers warrant that, R only if needed and yes i'll be able to monitor..
What would you consider a safe number that would allow him to stay at the 10.5dose?
Tommy has a 10:40am appt tomorrow with the vet for his vacc. and if all goes well hopefully a dental the following Wednesday.
I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday :-D

Re: 5/24 Tommy +9 219,+11 232, PMPS 181

IF, and that's a big IF, he had even been a bit higher at pre shot than his +11 i would have gone back to 11u, but it didn't feel right. Now i know he's probably going to go up a bit and that's the number you should generally go by, but I never know if he's going to jump through the roof or spend the night in the Lobby @-) @-) , so i went with what i felt. I can always fix it tomorrow right!! :-D

Good evening Marje, did you know your DH doesn't think he's so funny.. He cracks us up when you're away.. I think it's wonderful to have his help in the journey that you're taking with Gracie as well as your other furbabies i'm sure. That must be so cool. I hope that Teddi is continuing to heal.. If i've missed an update, i'm sorry.. If you have the energy, give your babes smooches from me would ya?
Great Big hug back to you and have a great night as well :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 5/24 Tommy +9 219,+11 232, PMPS 181

Hey there Julie, always some thing interesting when it involves a boy isn't it? I hope pretty blues and maybe a green or two mixed in there.. I'll tell you what though i'm really worried about Maggie right now.. I think Ann is taking her to the ER for a glucose drip but i'm not sure..

Libby thank you! we'll see if it was the right decision. I agree that pmps numbers WAS very much a nice surprise.

Well, we've got some pretty wicked weather almost on top of us again so I'm up with Chariie, he is terrified of Thunder and Lightning, testing Tommy and sending big healing thoughts to Ann and Maggie right now that she comes home soon and is feeling much better..
