J.D. went into a bounce last night and let me sleep. He looks like he's coming out of it this morning, so I shot him in the scruff hoping for slower absorption.

Morning Dyana, and nice you were able to get some sleep while J.D. was in the bounce. Is there a certain part of the scruff where it is slower absorption?

Yup, he's going to have a good day. Only a 9 point rise 1 hour after eating.

Normally, he gets shot in the sides (flank area). I just heard that the scruff had slower absorption. I switched after years of shooting in the scruff, because he built up so much scar tissue there (or his skin got very tuff in the scruff eventually).

I am sooooooo late getting ready for work.

Thanks Dyana for explaining the difference between shooting in the flank and scruff. I've been always shooting in the scruff and should be probably switching from time to time. Glad J.D. is looking good.

I'm posting from work. After 2 breffises, J.D. was still dropping, so I gave him another one right before I walked out the door, and I microwaved his frozen FF for about 20 seconds to help the melting process along. I'm sure he's fine.

I hope he was okay, while I was gone.
He did not come to greet me when I walked in the door. He was laying in bed with Ginger. He did not get up out of bed to be tested (and fed), I had to carry him. He seems a little slow, and did not want to eat his dinner (but he often does that when he's blue) until I sprinkled some topping on it, then he ate it. He just went outside on the porch where it is blistering hot (sorry, you know I hate summers here :roll: ).
 
Thanks. I think he's okay. I think it's probably just the heat. They were laying next to each other on my bed, and I didn't leave the air conditioner on during the day, as I had no idea it was going to turn out to be such a miserable day, today.
I'll leave it on for them, tomorrow.
I let the cats outside for a little bit, but I really couldn't stand to be out there with them. So, they only got a wee bit of outside time this evening.

He just ate his 2nd dinner (only after I sprinkled it with topping :roll: ) and is now in his bed in the living room.

Nice day for JD! And I think it's the heat...Spot is being very picky about his food too...have to sprinkle some stuff on it and then he'll eat. He's been like this for about a week now...since it's been hot. They are calling for thunder storms tonight....I love storms at night...the wind blowing through my bedroom window is wonderful! I just don't like them when they cause damage.
Going to head off to bed...have a wonderful evening.
