This is the first time in 13 years I have been able to get a urine sample!!!! And guess what?? My vet's office isn't answering their phone!! Is there any dip sticks I can purchase at the pharmacy to test for a UTI?

There's no way to test for a UTI at home. You can only test for urinary ketones.

Also, just as an FYI, getting urine at home to test for a UTI is not going to yield reliable results. The best way to test for a UTI is by cytocentesis (a needle poke into the bladder so the urine is sterile). The procedure is followed by a culture and sensitivity (C & S) in order to identify if there are bacteria growing and which antibiotic the bacteria is sensitive to. If you do a non-sterile urine catch, you don't know if the specimen is contaminate from the container, air, etc.

We usually have to do the Cysto becuase I've been unable to catch from home. I was so happy you'd think I won the lottery!!

refrigerate the urine..it's good for several hours. bravo
