I couldn't resist the pun!  Yesterday, I took Tessie Lou outside with her new leash and she LOVED IT! She became very animated, and immediately started walking everywhere and snooping into everything! I'm thinking she burned at least enough calories to offset her daily treat ration--yay! Unfortunately, we're supposed to get rain today, so no outside today, Missy! Next time we go out, I'll try to get a video. :-D

As far as her growths, no change. If we do a biopsy, the vet wants to get a tissue sample, instead of a needle aspiration, to get a definitive diagnosis. I take her in next Monday. :YMSIGH:

Have a great yellow bluish or green day, LL kitties!

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou AMPS 223 - New Leash on Life

Yay for the leash walk! I bet she loved it. What a big world there is out there.

Have a great day!

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou AMPS 223 - New Leash on Life

hi sandy - good morning!

what fun with the leash! can't imagine punkin would walk on a leash, but he sure loved going outside back in the day. how long have you had her walking with one?

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou AMPS 223 - New Leash on Life

Good morning Sandy and Tessie Lou,
How neat that Tessie Lou enjoys walking outside on her new leash. Rusty has a leash, too, and we may use it at Camp this weekend (otherwise he is not allowed out there; too many dangers).
Good luck with the procedure next week. We'll be thinking of you and Rusty will send some nice vines.
Have a great day. Rusty is very happy that Tessie Lou is coming to the party.

Ella & Rusty

Hi Tessie Lou. Of course there will be singing--and dancing, too. See you tomorrow at Camp St.
Rusty

I think pictures of Tessie Lou on her leash are in order - I bet she's irressitably cute venturing out in the big world! How sweet that she loves it!

We still have you guys in our thoughts and prayers...

Amy

Gabby would be a wimp outside. Gizmo -- he might go for a leash. That's a low yellow -- how about coming down a floor?

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou AMPS 223 - New Leash on Life

Melissa, yes it really is a big old world out there and Tessie Lou was thrilled with it! Julie, yesterday was her FIRST day on a leash--ever! She took to it like a natural. Sienne, I thought Tessie would be a wimp, too--just sit down in the grass and stay there--but to my surprise, she didn't! The harness/leash brand is "Come With Me, Kitty" and it seems to be a very comfortable harness, with a stretchy leash. Of course, I had to order the largest size...

Ella, what exactly is "Camp?" I thought maybe it was a "virtual" place that our kitties met, but it's a real place you go camping?

Amy, thanks for the support. We can always use the power of Lantus Land folks' thoughts and prayers.

Rusty, singing AND dancing? Whoo Hooo! It's gonna be so fun! Tessie Lou

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou AMPS 223 PMPS 103 - I shot it!

Wow, this is a surprise! She was 153 at AMPS +3 and 150 at AMPS +7, so I guess this 103 is a "double-dip?" Will check at +2 to see what's happening...

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou AMPS 223 PMPS 103 - I shot it!

You're brave!!! I would have shot too, but I'd be checking a 1+!!! Tessie Lou is looking good. You're doing such a good job!! :-D

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou AMPS 223 PMPS 103 - I shot it!

Hey Sandy - nice shooting! impressive!! Might want to get that +1. Glad you are planning on a +2 though. Good luck, and surf well Tessie Lou! - what a great pmps.

I love the leash story -how great for her. and that she liked it! no stopping her now. I can see the scene: they she will be, leash in mouth, begging to go out. :-D

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou PMPS 103 - I shot it! +2/93

Thanks Patty and Michelle,
Yes, I should have done a +1, but she has very little reaction to the insulin at night, so I thought it would be ok. Anyway, she's still dropping, so I'll check again pretty quick.

Michelle, I can see her with leash in mouth, too! Or, she may just lay on it and stare a hole through me, like she does her placemat when it's mealtime!

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou PMPS 103 - I shot it! +2/93

    YAY!!! Good luck tonight - good that you will continue to test. I hope she has a great cycle.

Too funny on the leash. I ca so see it!

Whew, I just had a tense hour with Tessie. At +4, I was getting ready to test her. For the past hour, she had been laying on my spot on the couch, instead of her ortho bed, which is right beside my spot on the couch. As some of you may recall, she has these "bouts" of pain in her hind quarters sometimes, although since getting the ortho bed, she hasn't had one for about 4 weeks. Anyway, she started having one! She cried, moved, cried again. When I tried to move her, she growled (only time she does this is when she's in pain). I tried to check her BG, but she got aggressive! No way could I do it! So, I got her down on the floor by saying her favorite line, "Do you want to EAT?" and I fed her a couple teaspoons of lc. She ate it in kind of a frenzy, then settled down a bit and finally laid down on her stuffed chair. She was very, very tired. After about 10 minutes, I was able to check her and it was 108, thank God!

I thought I was going to have to give her bupe, but she is now better. I was freaking out about what to do, cause I couldn't get a BG reading, and was afraid what the bupe might do to her blood sugar. Send it diving? What should you do in a case like that?

If I know my girl, she's done dropping now and will steadily climb til morning. Still, with the pain thing, I'm staying up with her.

Re: 6/9 Tessie Lou PMPS 103 - I shot it! +2/93

sandy that must've been scary! no experience with the bupe, but it sounds like you took care of her just right.

Great shooting but so sorry to hear about your scary experience...poor Tessie Lou. Nice work tonight!!

Good luck on the biopsy next week....we'll keep our eyes open for the NEGATIVE results!

Thanks, Marje! I'm not looking forward to putting her through that biopsy, but it is what it is. We'll get through it. And, right you are--NEGATIVE RESULTS!
