J.D. and Ginger didn't really like the breffis that was served this morning. J.D. finally ate most of his. And, before I got up, I spied Ginger eating some of the leftover food from yesterday, this morning. And both of them just had a bunch of cat treats.

I have to get dressed and go to the vet and ask about why the Mirtazapine they gave me at the vet the other day looks different than the ones I got at the pharmacy 2 years ago.

Then it's packing time.

This AM looks better than the 400's...keep this up J.D. Glad Ginger is eating some...Still in my thoughts and prayers.

Morning! Very nice start today for JD. I hope the rest of the cycle is as nice. Go JD!

Interesting on the meds - I think I too would check that out.

Re: 06/18 J.D. AMPS 206, +3 349

J.D. knows something is up (Ginger has known for a week, I think), all I did was touch his carrier this morning, and when I let him outside, he walked off into the woods (like 25 to 30 feet from my house) to "hide".

The vet couldn't confirm the difference in the pills although they said the pills are often different, but I did ask her to go make sure they came from the correct bottle, and she brought the big bottle to me and showed me the pills inside. I then went to the pharmacy that I purchased the first batch from, and they confirmed that the pills were the same...just a different color, a different size, and a different shape. All is well. I also confirmed with the vet tech, that Ginger does not have to finish the bottle of Orbax, so my neighbor does not have to medicate her. She said it was an antimicroobial or something like that, and not an antibiotic, so it's okay to stop the medication if she is feeling better, but to keep it on hand in case there is a relapse. It's probably the same type of stuff J.D. got (Albon) for the same thing..naussea, diareaha, and inappetance, back in March...he only had a few doses of that.

I still haven't started packing, although I have a bunch of J.D.'s stuff laid out on the dining room table.

I will probably/maybe give him some more R at around +6, just because I don't want to give it to him tonight, and tomorrow, he will go 27 hours without insulin.

Dag Nabit, he's not supposed to drop that fast.

Oh, crapola!!! Looks like J.D. is in the running for high dive champ!!!

By this time tomorrow, we will be at my dads house.
Ginger and I had some time together, outside, and at first she was all head butting me, and then she sat down beside me and I was petting her, and then she licked my leg a little and then bit me a couple times (somewhat sofly) on my leg, to tell me everything was going to be alright. And then she layed down beside me and we just sat there for about a half hour.
I just had another talk with the petsitter lady, and all will be alright, even though I have a big tear rolling down my face.

Ginger ate all her 1st dinner, and this will be the last shot J.D. gets until 7:00pm PST tomorrow.
I will bring a baggie of steak on board along with a baggie of Evo dry mixed with freeze dried treats for J.D. to break up the long flight and car travel that goes with it.

I called my dad to make sure that he will have a litter box in his car when he comes to pick us up.

I'm going to the pool, now, to float and meditate.

Dyana - I didn't know you decided to take JD along. That is great news! I knew you were really worried about leaving him. Ginger is probably looking forward to having the place to herself. Everything will go great! Have a great time!!!

Hi Dyana,

I so feel your stress of going away and having a pet sitter. Know one does it like mom right. And I always feel like I have to work so hard to get my place somewhat in shape for the pet sitter. It's a lot of work and worrying, sometimes I think it's better for me to just stay home. :-|

But you'll have a great time seeing your dad and visiting. Ginger will be fine. Do you have a # for her? I'm sure you do. Glad that she's feeling better I know that's a big thing off your shoulders. We are so alike when it comes to obsessing about our cats, but that's just what we do. You are a great mom to your kitties, you do everything possible to make them happy and healthy.

Have a great trip! Things at home will be fine. Did you say you gave Ginger permission to partay while your gone. What a cool mom! ;-)

Dyana-

We'll all be thinking about you, Ginger, and J.D. as you travel. Have a safe journey and a wonderful vacation! I'm so glad to hear that Ginger told you all will be well while you're gone.

Travel safely...

Amy

I woke up at +5.5 and found J.D. licking on something. It was the empty torn up baggie...that held about a cup of EVO dry, some illegal cat treats, and a bunch of freeze dried treats, that were supposed to keep J.D. entertained on the plane ride.
He was 357. Ate +6.5 he was 365, and I decided to give him 0.0 or R. He is drinking and peeing alot, but we'll just have to deal with that. Ginger and J.D. just ate their 1st breffis at 4:30am. We leave in about an hour.

safe trip and dontchaya just love how they are able to find the illegal stuff. mr. beasley does the same thing but can open a lock and lock. go figure
