Good Morning, Everyone,

I guess Rusty is having a delayed reaction from the car trip, because I don't think it was a fur shot last night. Anyway, we had a good night's sleep, good test, good shot (I hope), breakfast (in 2 installments), and now Rusty is chillaxin', no doubt thinking of getting that mouse! I see that today is day 47 on this cartridge of Levemir, so I'm going to start a new one either tonight or tomorrow morning. We've been seeing a lot more blues than greens for quite a while, but I don't know if it is attributable to the Lev. or to the dose (he had better numbers when the dose was lower!), or to the cat. Probably the cat. I'm trying to feed him a little less food to get that extra pound off gradually. He needs to exercise more, too!

Lots of rain last night and there is sun this morning, but more rain expected to move in later. We need rain, so this is good. Today will be a day of back-to-the-routine chores. I hope to get out on my bike if it doesn't rain. Edward's shoulder and back are really good--the best they've felt in a year. He attributes it to the chiropractor, who is a genius. Also, paddling seems to be good for it.

Everyone have a good day. Sending healing vines to Sara and Rocket, eating vines to Champ, and good thoughts to all other kitties and beans not feeling well.

Hi Kitties: Saturday is the full moon: the Full Sturgeon Moon". We've gotta plan! Sounds like fish will be on the menu.

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 152

Good morning!! Rusty is a little high. He must be busy plotting the mouse capture when he gets back to camp.

So good to hear that Edward is feeling better. Chiropractors can do really amazing things. I'm sure the paddles work great on it as well. Anytime you can get it moving and get blood flowing.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi guys .. sorry to see rusty up a little higher then normal .. hoping he comes back down soon .. So glad to hear Edward is feeling good! I hope you guys get the rain you need, but hope you can still get out for a bike ride .. have a great day guys!

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 152

Things and Rusty's number should settle down as the "home" routine gets reestablished. Enjoy the ride or the rain, both sound great.

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 152, +5.5 72, +6.5 66

I didn't expect quite this steep a drop by +5.5, but the 72 is often where he is at +5.5 (the 152 AMPS was high for Rusty). I gave Rusty his usual lunch (Wellness turkey, about a tablespoon). I was surprised, however, to have him call me to the testing site at +6.5, meowing loudly. So I thought I would indulge him and give him another test: 66 even after eating an hour before. So he got a teaspoon more of lunch. Then he was happy. I think he's trying to keep pace with Mannie, but he has a ways to go!!!

We'll have another test in a little while.

My bike ride got rained out and now the sun has made an appearance, but my "moment" has passed.

Oh my, busy day in LL. Competition between the 2 georgeous long-haired males. It's great that he knows to tell you and he wants to eat when he is dropping. Go Figure.

Have you tried putting a little vaseline on the mats and working it in. I have one that mats up and that works with him also spares me the bites/scratches cause it doesn't hurt so much.

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 152, +5.5 72, +6.5 66

Thanks, Barbara, for the vaseline tip. I did try it once, but it was a goopy mess. Rusty doesn't mind having his mats worked on if I only do one a day. Sometimes I just cut them off. Other times I use the 9-teeth-to-the-inch comb, after separating them first with my fingers. He tries to work on them himself, but it's hard for him because he hasn't many teeth (in the front of his mouth he only has the 2 bottom teeth!)
Has your weather cooled off some?

Hi Ella, nice drop and cycle for Rusty. He must be feeling comfy now that he's home sweet home. It's so amazing when they tell us when it is time to test. Hope you had a nice bike ride.

Hi guys! I thought I had posted here - I remember reading it and everything... but alas! no post! I probably lost it in between dgs feedings and mannie poking...

nice on the numbers this morning for Rusty- wow! green and everything Rusty! It is fun and great how they come to get us when they need to eat, or want us to test them. This morning when Mannie was surfin the 30's  I fed the first one, which he gobbled up. and the he sat there wouldn't leave... for the whole 20 minutes I waited for the next test. Sure enough - still in the 30's: he knew. It just amazes me how well these kitties know what they need. Good job Rusty letting your bean you needed food.

It is very nice to read that Edward's back and shoulder are doing so much better. he must be very happy!

I've tried the Vaseline on Mannie's mats - it worked ok for us - if you use just a very small amt. Mannie hates the whole dematting thing, and he gets such bad ones near his tail base, due to his "unique" tail structure.. they are so hard to remove... i am glad that Rusty doesn't fight you to much....

RUSY!!! FULL MOON coming! We gots to plan! At camp stu, yes? fish yes? oooooo..... I had better get busy with the cookbooks! see you tomorrow so we can figure out the grillin' stuff? ~~ Mannie

Nice morning! Rusty is really happy at home and he wanted you there with him! :-D Are he and Mannie planning something more than a full moon party?

Lovely numbers today! Glad Ed's back is feeling better--Hope Rusty is back to his old self & you
can read him so well--Hugs & Luv from us!! Ni Ni
