Stella's Condo

Stella is doing great despite the long hours I have been away working each day. She always stresses out while I am gone, so I can't get an accurate read on her dose. I am back and she gives me a +5/79.

Stella is now regularly jumping up onto the bed. Yippee! Her hind legs still show a bit of Neuropathy...but her ability to jump now brings her a lot of joy.

I hope everyone has a great start to their week!

Hi guys .. I can just imagine the pride in stellas eyes as she jumps up on that bed so easily now! That +5 is looking pretty darn sweet too!

Re: 8/22/11 Stella AMPS/238 +5/79 +9/56

Thanks everybody! Imagine the shocker I had at +9/56. She had just been stretched out on my lap/legs purring away and it was time to get her BG read. This is just another indication, that Stella is a 'stress' diabetic. When she is happy and purring away her BG # always goes way down. Hmmm... I can't be home all of the time petting her...

Re: 8/22/11 Stella AMPS/238 +5/79 +9/56

most likely she's just having a later nadir. the nadir can slide around, which is one reason we can't just take a +6 and call that the low point of the cycle. that would mean it's a good idea for you to check more later in the cycle inthe next couple of days.

Re: 8/22/11 Stella AMPS/238 +5/79 +9/56

Julie, Stella is impossible in the 'predictable' sense. Her 50 was at +4, and she has had her nadirs at the PMPS +12. She keeps me on my toes to be sure! ;-)

do you feed her on a predictable basis? as in, are you feeding her on a schedule the same every day?

Welcome Mary & Stella!! Moonie is also a stress diabetic..We work at craft fairs & streets fairs on the weekends--You should see how much her numbers go up when we are not home!!--Then the next day, she has beautiful numbers like yesterday & today!! She'd like me to be home with her all the time!
Sorry Baby No can do!--You are doing a good job, & her numbers show it!

One thing about FD, it is unpredictable! I think that's what we hate most--Me anyway ohmygod_smile
So girl, we have Patience pants for any member who needs them
No really  --These numbers today are really great showing you that it's all working.

Are you giving Methyl B12 for the neuropathy?? Moonie walks most of the time on her hocks, but she can walk on her toes a little--We have been here 3 1/2 yrs and when she could jump up where ever she wanted to go, that was a great victory for us. Moonie gets i everyday & it does help neuropathy.
I get it from vitacost.com-methylcobalamin 5000 mcg is 5 mg. ( tasteless & no side effects except helps FD neuropathy)..Try it maybe it has helped scores of our cats-
Keep up the great work She is doing great! Ni Ni!

Thanks Roni and Moonie. Yes, I use that very same B12M. I give Stella 5mg in the AM and 5mg in the PM and Stella is doing great with it added as a supplement to her food. She is almost all of the way off of her hocks since we started using it! I am amazed you can take your kitty to a craft fair! If I took my healthy kitty Boo, she would dash away to meet each and every person...Stella on the other hand would be quite fearful of the crowd and I am sure her BG's would go through the roof! I don't know how you do it! Stella really has only bonded with me, my mom, and I think her favorite is my oldest brother. I guess she likes a man...hahahaha.... ;-) She doesn't really care for anyone else she has met in her almost 13 years. She is Ms...picky pants.

As you see, Stella has gone green for the evening...yippee! She is one cool cat! I hope you have a great evening!
