8/24 Rusty PMPS 113, +4.5 118

Good Morning, Everyone,

I don't know what happened to Rusty's numbers yesterday: they just kept rising and this morning we're up to 170!! I didn't think I gave fur shots (neither Edward nor I could smell insulin). Oh well, we'll see what today brings. I'm pretty sure I didn't give a fur shot this morning (maybe I shouldn't say that!!!). I tested Rusty's meter against his back-up meter on myself and got virtually the same number, so I'm ruling out bad strips or false readings. He's acting normally and all Ps were present yesterday (too early yet today for all of the Ps).

We didn't feel the earthquake yesterday (we must have been in the car when it happened). All seems well here. Today we were supposed to be on a 12-mile, large-lake paddle, but it was cancelled because of expected winds of 35mph. I will take the opportunity to clean the house. My NYC cycling friend is visiting us this weekend so it's time to clean!

I'm sorry to hear that your paddle got canceled, but they're thinking of your safety, which, of course, is understandable. I hope that you get to paddle in the next day or so, or perhaps this weekend. Thank you for stopping by our condo. We greatly appreciate it.

Hope it wasn't a fur shot for Rusty. Just one number. I have to tell myself that all the time and at least he is blue. Hope he comes down and surfs the greens for you.

I was wondering about the earthquake. Crazy stuff these days. Cleaning house does not sound like a very good trade off for a cancelled paddle, but I'm sure it will be nice to have it done.

I'm sorry about your paddle but glad you did not feel the earthquake. I lived in AK for the 8.5 on Good Friday in 1964....not fun.

Just wanted to let you know Tobey dolled himself up this morning, grabbed Gracie by the hand, and they headed for your place. He said now that his eye is much better he wants to go see his Auntie Ellabean. Oh....and it didn't hurt that he read you have a surprise for him. :lol: :lol: :lol: He's kinda wild today so hope you have some energy bars there for yourself!

Rusty alway makes a good recovery with the numbers...I'm sure he'll head for the green lagoon soon!!

Sorry about the canceled paddle, especially when you're substituting housecleaning for it!! Not a good trade-off!!

Oh I am feeling that Rusty will be green tonite or early tomorrow--Hope you see better numbers tonite too.

Hi again,
Rusty had a great afternoon. He came down nicely and enjoyed a good 2 hours outdoors, chasing bugs, sitting on the rocks, and just having a good time. I'm afraid he trapped and killed a grasshopper, however. He started to eat it, but spit it out and then just played with it until it expired. Then he came over to where I was sitting on the grass and climbed into my lap. What a cat! I think we had a good shot this evening, so here's hoping he'll get into the greens.

We are thinking of Barbara (Tuffy) tonight. She lost her dear horse, Pami, who she rescued many years ago and who lived to be 32 years old. Safe trip, Pami, and good grazing in the meadows by the Bridge.

Hi Ella. Sorry your paddle got canceled. It was sunny, but extremely windy here too.

I'm here, looking for a Rusty/Shadow story. Ewww on the grasshopper. We are crazy with 'hoppers this year. I've never seen Checkers chase bugs. He just likes to eat greens outside.

I am glad to see Rusty with more normal Rusty numbers. Who knows why they do what they do... it's enough to drive one bonkers! They always seem to turn it around though. Good job Rusty!

Sorry that your paddle was canceled - I suppose 35mph winds might be a good deterrent... Did you get your house clean?

blech on the grasshopper... one has to love cats... I love the playing with it until the end... the lap part was excellent!

I too wish pami a safe journey... a very sad day for Barbara.
