I'm out to do a little run before checking at +3 to make sure he's taking the local train and not the express.
Anne is doing fine, a little tired as you can imagine. She gets the day off tomorrow before the conference starts on Thu. She's going to the Birenstock store to get some sandals for our German teacher. Probably shopping for some German chocolate too. Yum!

Yikes! I even tested again and got 379 at +3. I'm not sure what's going on with that. I think his shoulders smell like insulin so maybe it's a fur shot. :sad: He doesn't have much energy and his appetite is not very good. Poor Zener, he's having a lousy cycle.

I'm sorry for the cycle....he will come back down. It just may be a reflection of his interim dose for now.

I'm going to check Zener's BG at +11 so I'll have an idea of his trend at shot time. Hope this bounce doesn't last too long. Right now, he is busy protecting his backyard from any possible incursions by neighbor cats.

I just weighed Zener and he has lost 4 oz since last Thursday (13 lbs 4.5 oz to 13 lbs 0.5 oz) He is not overweight and we'd like to keep him above 13 lbs. I'm not quite as diligent as Anne about following him around with food. I'll work on that. Should I give him higher carb food to get him to eat more? Should we go back to the 1.25u shot? I am feeling a little discouraged today. Do I need a new pair of patience pants?

I think this is a bounce. Just wait it out.

With regard to food, I would not feed at +10. Feeding that late in the cycle may be influencing your pre-shot numbers.

I would not feed HC as a means of increasing Zener's food consumption. Often, the HC food is lower in calories. Either give Zener more at each meal or add an additional meal. Basically, you need to increase his calories to get him to gain weight.

OK, I'll plan on shooting 1.0 in the morning too.

I was thinking that the freeze-dried chicken would not have any carbs and that would be OK at +10. He does seem to want something to eat then. Should I not give him anything after +6?

His appetite has been rather poor and getting him to eat is a challenge. I give him as much at each meal as he will eat. I think I'll give him a cypro (appetite stimulant) tonight and see if that helps.

Yeah! We're back to the pink floor! Might be an active cycle so I'll be checking at +3. Zener is acting rather perky after playing with some skunks in the backyard. There was vomit on the patio, not sure if it is his or courtesy of the civvie. He did eat pretty good just now, so maybe it was his and he feels a whole lot better. I sure hope so. I did give him 1/2 cypro for appetite stimulant.

If you can back the freeze dried chicken snack up to +9.5 and see what happens that would be better. I didn't realize what the abbreviation was -- the chicken may be OK but let's move it a little earlier, if possible, and see what happens.
